Ardmore United Methodist Preschool
“We love AUMP because it’s a very structured school. They provide lesson plans in the beginning of the school year and have parent / teacher conferences to keep us on track about how our child’s learning is progressing and behaviors at school. They host a lot of fun activities including Fall Festival, Halloween Parade, Christmas concert, etc. which provide opportunities for us to get to know the school, teachers, and other families better. The teachers at AUMP are all very nice, warm and trustworthy, just like a big family. It’s fairly easy to reach out to our teacher and communicate with our concerns. Although it’s a half day school, my child brings back A LOT of things he accomplished at school, such as worksheets, arts and crafts and other learning materials. AUMP also provides extended days as an option so my child can stay at school, play more and learn more until 2:00 pm.” – Fang L.
“The teachers and staff are outstanding! They’re great communicators and I feel that our daughter is safe, cared for, and in a positive learning environment. In addition, the facility itself and the outdoor area are clean and spacious.” – Kristina E.
“The teachers and staff are so patient with the children, very kind. But even more important, they’re great teachers. My son has come home on a number of occasions talking about what he learned in school. The kids are never doing just paper worksheets, rather learning by playing, learning by engaging in activities, and having conversations with teachers and classmates about those learning topics.” – Tracy N.
French International/ L’รฉcole Franรงaise Internationale
“Wonderful language immersion program, warm and kind teachers. Lots of diversity in the school, with many nations represented, so there is a lot exposure to other cultures.” – Erika H.
Garrett’s Way Childcare and Learning Center
“Love the access to outdoor space activities that the children have: Nature Hikes, Garden Tours, Barn Tours, Farm Tours. In addition to the outside time, the staff is very helpful and dedicated both in and out of the classroom.” – Tara F.
“We feel like part of a community at Goddard Bala Cynwyd. Also, their facilities are beautiful and clean. It’s one of, if not the only, daycare in the area we know of that has an indoor gym which is great for the kids to get to run around during the winter months.” – Kim C.
Good Samaritan Day School (“Good Sam Paoli”)
“My child has never been nervous while going to or returning home. Parents are allowed to drop off and pick up at the class which gives my child extra confidence to be in the class.” – S.B.
“They offer more than just the basic preschool classes. They have an outdoor class which my daughter loves. They have enrichment activities where they teach them things like art, yoga, sports activities and reading. The staff is incredibly kind and very helpful.” – Sara D
Montessori Children’s House of Valley Forge
“Not only has my son gained so much from this program, but I feel confident and guilt-free when sending him there while I work. I know he is safe, loved, challenged, cared for, and celebrated. I’d make the same decision over and over again.” – Aubrey F.
“Dedicated teachers who are beyond thoughtful and caring for all students. Amazing lesson plans tailored to your child’s needs.” – Michael N.
SALT Performing Arts Playhouses for Preschoolers
“This preschool, run by SALT Performing Arts and hosted at the beautiful Montgomery School campus, is an absolute gem. They incorporate dance (ballet and tap), tumbling, music, and art into the curriculum, partnering with local music and dance teachers for daily, structured, fun, and joyous exposure to the arts. They focus on helping the children find their voice, find their confidence, and become “”leaders of love and kindness,”” and I can truly say it works! My four year old entered the program having gone to a different preschool the year before. She has blossomed into a kind, confident little dancer and devoted friend to all over the course of this school year. And on top of all that, they get outside time daily for exploring the stream, fields, playground, and trees of Montgomery’s campus -plus, they get access to the full time school nurse!” – Sarah J.
Saint Agnes Catholic School offers several new innovative programs that will enrich studentsโ learning experiences. They will be implementing Friendzy, a faith-based social-emotional learning curriculum that helps students build healthy relationships and emotional resilience rooted in Gospel values. – Jenifer N.
St. David’s Episcopal Day School
“I feel so lucky that SDEDS has been my child’s first introduction to school. SDEDS offers a caring and nurturing environment where my little one feels loved each and every day. He has so much fun and learns from hands-on activities like an outdoor garden and unique learning opportunities like animal visits. The teacher and staff are fantastic and the school also has a very family-oriented and active parent community.” – Jessica G.
“St. Margaret School offers an affordable education in a convenient Narberth location. This small school features a strong community, dedicated teachers, and excellent valuesโparticularly appealing for Catholic families.” – Veronica A.
“St. Norbert’s School offers the smallest of classrooms and a close community feel amongst the grades.” St. Norbert Parent
Swarthmore Friends Nursery School
“We love the staff, the crafts, activities, and teaching style. They spend a lot of time outdoors learning and playing.
Lunch bunch is great. We love how all of the kids are mixed in so that they can form friendships with different ages and learn from one another.” – Erin V.
“While handling the fundamentals students are allowed and encouraged to explore the more challenging problems we face. Limitations are really only based on the student.” – Chris L.
The Malvern School, King of Prussia
“The teachers bring 110% every day and make it such a fun environment for the kids! My child looks forward to seeing their friends and teachers every day. The school provides a great curriculum, lots of outdoor time, and the communication between staff and parents is awesome.” – Marissa S.
“The teachers and staff are so caring and genuinely care for your child. Almost every teacher sent their child through West Hill and that’s how they treat your child. The classes are well organized, fun, and very educational. Our son flourished at West Hill, making lifelong friends along the way as well as building a love of learning.” – Amy K.
“There are 2 things that I love about Wetherill the most. First, the outdoor space really lends itself to exploration of nature and good old wholesome outside play. Second, I love that all the staff and teachers know my son, and not just his classroom teachers. Their effort fosters a true sense of community.” – Maire Z.

Hi Pete, we created this list based on the results from our School Survey (see above). We explain how we’re showing off our Education Partner Members’ Profile Pages and our “Friend Preschools,” who the parents in our Main Line Parent Community have completed the School Survey about. ๐ As for your Philadelphia concerns, many parents who live around the Eastern Main Line consistently recommend these preschools, year after year.

How is this list derived? Is there some sort of vote or survey done? Are you able to share the results of that? Also, I thought this was meant to be for the main line, but appears that 2 of the 6 results are in Philadelphia.
