Invisalign: A Great Choice for Any Age
Find out why this option might be right for you.

Invisalign, a clear alternative to traditional metal braces, works beautifully for all ages. At Foote Orthodontics, we treat patients from age 7 to 77 who love this comfortable and more aesthetic way to straighten teeth.

Invisalign clear aligners fit your life — they don’t interrupt it. Our scanner quickly captures a 3D image of your mouth and then Dr. Catherine Foote and Dr. Cara Piskai utilize the Invisalign Clin Check software to customize your aligner movements to move each tooth to the desired final position.
Every aligner is precisely calibrated and manufactured to fit your mouth at each stage of the treatment plan. Aligners are typically worn for one week each and are worn full-time, except for eating and brushing.
We primarily use aligners in young children to develop the bones — in other words, to create enough width to accommodate all of the teeth. It’s similar to an expander, just without turning the expansion screw. Invisalign aligners achieve bony base expansion and rapid palatal expanders (RPE) achieve sutural expansion. Aligner expansion is recommended in mild to moderately crowded cases.
Children’s dental hygiene tends to be better with aligners than with traditional braces since aligners are removed to eat and to brush and floss their teeth.

Older children, especially during those self-conscious pre-teen and teenage years, appreciate the “invisible” look, as well as the ease and comfort of the aligners. They don’t interfere with a teen’s busy lifestyle, with sports, music, and a host of extracurricular activities.
“Our adult patients love Invisalign for its comfort and aesthetics, and the fact that you can remove them for social events, dinner dates, and more,” Foote said.
With Invisalign, there’s a lot less to worry about. You can keep eating all of your favorite foods; stay active in all the sports and activities you love; and brush and floss as you would normally, with no brackets or wires to get in the way.
You’ll experience fewer emergency visits, without the hassle of a broken bracket or a poking wire. Your Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible, so people may not even notice you’re wearing them!
