Celebrate mom for all that she is and all that she does! We’ve gathered some Mother’s Day ideas to help you plan something special for your mom, grandmom, your spouse — or yourself! So read on to find a lovely brunch or another special Mother’s Day activity to celebrate that very important person.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Elmwood Park Zoo

Treat mom to an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet and a day at the Elmwood Park Zoo! Their annual Mother’s Day Brunches will take place on Saturday, May 13th and Sunday, May 14th, with three timed seatings available each day. Your ticket includes admission to the Zoo, brunch, and an animal meet and greet!

Stove and Tap’s Mother’s Day Brunch

Stove and Tap is hosting Mother’s Day brunch on Saturday the 13th and Sunday the 14th with food and drink specials.

Mother’s Day Brunch at Paradocx Vineyard

Paradocx Vineyard is an area winery situated in the rolling hills of southern Chester County. Its name comes from the fact that the winery is owned by two couples, all of whom are doctors. (Pair of docs, get it?) On Mother’s Day, the winery restaurant is hosting a family-friendly brunch buffet. Space is limited and reservations are required.

Would mom like a unique fondue dining experience of The Melting Pot in King of Prussia? On Mother’s Day, this family-friendly restaurant is offering a four-course prix fixe menu for $64 per person. With the prix fixe, moms get a mom-osa, champagne, or non-alcoholic beverage on the house. Kids 12 and under may order from the kids menu.

A carefully curated selection awaits at Chadds Ford Winery.

Make a date at Chadds Ford Winery for a celebration of Mom with fresh sips and artisan bites. Mimosas with Mom is happening each weekend in May, when the winery will be honoring Moms with bubbly specials and seasonal pours. This intimate and educational 60-minute experience takes place in the newly renovated Barrel Room and provides access to some of Chaddsford’s latest wine releases. Each session will begin with a brief, classroom-style presentation by a Chaddsford wine educator. After the pairings are introduced and explained, your group will have an hour to enjoy the carefully curated selections. During your session, food truck fare from Common Good Pizza will be available. Guests under 21 years old are not permitted to attend.

Masterpieces for Mom (Ages 6–12)

Join Miss Hannah and make a masterpiece for mom or any other special person in your life! Children are invited to come paint a masterpiece; art supplies will be provided. It could be a messy event, so please dress appropriately. Online registration required, appropriate for ages 6 to 12.

Mother’s Day Crafternoon (Ages 3–6)

Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so stop into the Gladwyne library on Wednesday, May 10th, from 4–6 pm and create a flower card for mom! Head down to the Junior Room on the basement level, where the library will have colorful paper, stickers, and markers to decorate your masterpiece for mom. For ages 3–6. Registration is not required.

Longwood Gardens Mother’s Day Weekend

Join Longwood Gardens for Mother’s Day Weekend and celebrate the opening weekend of Festival of Fountains with the return of daily fountain performances. Take in a spectacular Illuminated Fountain Performance, Thursday through Saturday evening when the gardens are open until 10 pm, or enjoy a flower-filled Sunday stroll when the gardens are open until 6 pm. On Sunday from noon to 3 pm, enjoy guitar duo Chris Braddock and Dan Graper in the Conservatory. There’s dining in the 1906 restaurant and The Café, as well as drinks in the Beer Garden.

Mother’s Day Craft

Mother’s Day Celebration at the Barn

Sycamore & Stone Farm is an historic, five-acre property with a retail space, woodshop, and 1800’s stone house. On Mother’s Day weekend, stop in to the barn for a special gift for mom! Shop hand-made gifts or make your own from the bouquet bar, or create a make-it and take-it stamped craft.

Sesame Place Mother’s Day Celebration

Tea on the Colebrookdale Railroad

All aboard for a Mother’s Day adventure on the Colebrookdale Railroad! Two excursions are running on May 14th with Dining Class, First Class, or Deluxe Coach seats available. Dining class service includes tea sandwiches, pastries, scones, premium teas, and mimosas. First Class Parlor tickets include a complementary tapas plate, a dessert, and the beverage of your choice. Light, a la carte fare is available with Deluxe Coach tickets.

Evansburg Vineyards Afternoon Concert

May 14, 2023, 4 pm–7 pm
Evansburg Vineyard, 3857 Germantown Pike, Collegeville

While this is not an official “Mother’s Day” event, an afternoon at the vineyard is a fabulous idea for any mom who appreciates wine! Start your visit in the tasting room with a sample of their wines and a peek into their winemaking space. Then grab a seat on the deck or on the lawn, and enjoy a performance by local musician, Bronwyn Beth. A Philadelphia-based violinist, she earned her master’s degree in classical violin performance, but she grew up playing folk and bluegrass music. Whether she is performing a Vivaldi concerto, fiddling a bluegrass tune, or covering Boyz II Men, she strives to bring the joy and healing power of music to every audience.
