Gladwyne Montessori: Embracing Children’s Innate Curiosity Since 1962

Learn about the time-tested and hands-on education your child can find at Gladwyne Montessori School

As the only American Montessori Society (AMS) accredited school teaching infant through adolescent learners on the Main Line, Gladwyne Montessori provides differentiated instruction that is deeply rooted in the Montessori philosophy and continuously builds upon a foundation that starts as early as six weeks old. In Gladwyne Montessori’s Elementary Program, students consistently score well above their peers on standardized tests in math, reading, and writing assessments at an average of 5% above students at other local private schools and 14% above local public schools. Kindergarten students also consistently perform one grade level above students at other local schools in both math and literacy. Beginning in Kindergarten, students meet regularly with Gladwyne’s talented team of Literacy Specialists, who use scientifically proven methods to increase students’ reading comprehension, meeting with students in small groups, multiple times per week.

Since 1962, a Gladwyne Montessori education has combined the time-tested and visionary insights of Dr. Maria Montessori with the ever-evolving world of advanced technology and modern research. The Montessori approach provides an uninterrupted work period that flows naturally to include each subject within the rigorous academic curriculum. Students at Gladwyne Montessori also benefit from small class sizes with a low student to teacher ratio, allowing for the experienced, Montessori-certified faculty to authentically deliver the Montessori curriculum and provide individualized and specialized instruction, completely meeting the needs of each child.

At Gladwyne Montessori, infants to adolescents demonstrate their innate curiosity of the world through sensorial exploration and the Montessori method. Gladwyne Montessori’s beautiful, nature-rich, historic 5-acre campus is designed to encourage exploration and self-discovery, and with the campus improvement projects recently completed this past spring, incorporates even more indoor and outdoor learning spaces that reflect the Montessori philosophy and optimize child development.

Gladwyne Montessori believes an optimal learning environment for a child should be carefully curated and go beyond reputation or test scores; it should nurture each child, strengthening and challenging a child’s unique academic abilities as the child simultaneously develops a perspective with endless possibilities. The hands-on, in-depth, individualized learning at Gladwyne Montessori is the education of the future: here, now.
