Hanukkah Events on the Main Line
Come light the menorah and celebrate the Festival of Lights around town!
Brush up on those dreidel-spinning skills because Hanukkah begins December 2. Here’s what’s going on around town.
December 2, 2:30—4:30 pm
Media Community Center, 301 N. Jackson St., Media (Menorah lighting at 201 W. Front St., Media)
Start at the Community Center for dreidel crafts, face painting, treats, and Judah Macabee photo ops. Then walk down the street to the courthouse for music, remarks, a grand menorah lighting, and “The Great Chanukah Gelt Drop” by the Media Fire Company.
December 2, 4—6 pm
Wynnewood Lanes, 2228 Haverford Rd., Ardmore
This party features a bowling pin menorah lighting at 4:45, plus food, games, and fun! Tickets available online.
December 2, 5:30 pm
Mary Wood Park, E. Fifth St. and Hallowell St., Conshohocken
Enjoy music, latkes, hot cocoa, and more at this celebration that ends with a menorah lighting and “gelt drop” where kids can collect chocolate coins as hundreds rain from above!
December 3, 5 pm (party at 5:30 pm)
Menorah lighting at Suburban Square, 602 Coulter Ave., Ardmore; Party at Ardmore Music Hall, 23 E. Lancaster Ave., Ardmore
First, there will be a menorah lighting at Suburban Square. Then walk over to Ardmore Music Hall for treats, crafts, and more celebration!
December 4, 5:30—8 pm
Har Zion, 1500 Hagys Ford Rd, Penn Valley
Get photos with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible and Violet, and enjoy a latke (and vodka) bar, crafts, DJ music, a photobooth, a kid-friendly movie, and of course a menorah lighting. Tickets available online.
December 4, 6 pm
Plymouth Meeting Mall, 500 W. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting
Light a “Menorah of Warmth,” and bring a donation of warm winter accessories for those in need. Enjoy latkes, donuts, crafts, and an exciting show by One Man Sideshow.
December 7, 6—8 pm
Kesher Israel Congregation, 1000 Pottstown Pike, West Chester
Come for a family service, dinner, entertainment by the One Man Sideshow, crafts, and games. Tickets available online.
December 9, 2 — 3:30 pm
1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown
This celebration begins at the “Trail of the Jaguar” exhibit for games and craft, then ends with a performance by Temple Brith Achim Choir and menorah lighting at the Eagles Deck.
