Come light the menorah and celebrate the Festival of Lights around town!

Brush up on those dreidel-spinning skills because Hanukkah begins December 22! Here’s what’s going on around town.

Warm Up To Winter Chanukah Concert

December 15, 10-11 am

Main Line Reform Temple, 410 Montgomery Ave., Wynnewood

 

Get ready for Chanukah and the long winter season with a rocking concert from Ross M. Levy and Chana Rothman. Free to attend; all are welcome!

Menorah Workshop at Home Depot

December 15, 2-3 pm

700 Reed Rd., Broomall

 

Chabad of Delaware County hosts a workshop where kids can get hands-on and create their own menorah (plus enjoy delicious treats!) with the help of Home Depot. Space is limited; RSVP necessary: rikki@jewishdelco.org

‘Frozen 2’ Hanukkah at Har Zion

December 17, 5:30-8 pm

Har Zion, 1500 Hagys Ford Rd, Penn Valley

 

Get photos with Frozen characters, and enjoy a latke (and vodka) bar, crafts, DJ music, a photobooth, a kid-friendly movie, and of course a menorah lighting. Tickets available online.

Hanukkah Happening at Kesher Israel

December 20, 6-8 pm

Kesher Israel Congregation, 1000 Pottstown Pike, West Chester

 

Come for a family service, dinner, entertainment by the Give and Take Jugglers, crafts, and games. Tickets available online.

The Great Big Chanukah Jump

December 22, 2:30 pm

Kaiserman JCC, 45 Haverford Rd., Wynnewood

 

Come for a variety of inflatables, treats, and lots of family fun. There will also be a grand menorah lighting at 4:40 pm. RSVP online.

Chanukah Wonderland

December 22, 3:30 pm (5 pm menorah lighting)

Chabad of the Main Line, 625 Montgomery Ave., Merion Station

 

Enjoy menorah lighting, donut decorating, candle making, and much more. Free for kids under 2; $5 per person. Sign up online.

Grand Chanukah Celebration in Conshohocken

December 22, 3:30 pm

Mary H. Wood Park, Conshohocken

 

Chabad of Lafayette Hill hosts the largest menorah lighting in Conshohocken, including the “Great Chanukah Gelt Drop” where chocolate coins rain down from atop firetrucks for kids to gather up!

Community Chanukah Party at Main Line Reform Temple

December 22, 4—6 pm

410 Montgomery Ave., Wynnewood

 

Before the lighting on the first night of Chanukah, celebrate with donut decorating, bounce house, latkes, crafts, and more. RSVP to Rabbi Kleinman at kkleinman@mlrt.org to attend.

Hanukkah at Sesame Place

December 23, 3:45 pm (menorah lighting at 4:30 pm)

Celebrate the Festival of Lights with Sesame Place’s first-ever Menorah Lighting Ceremony. Join a local rabbi, Baby Bear, who celebrates Hanukkah with his family, and more of your Sesame Street friends to light the menorah, sing songs, and celebrate the holiday! “Hanukkah Storytime with The Count” will be taking place at 3:45 pm that day in Mr. Hooper’s Emporium, as well.

Menorah Lighting and Chocolate Gelt Drop

Gather on the Courtyard lawn for a menorah lighting and “gelt drop” where kids can collect chocolate coins as hundreds rain from above!

Chanukah at the Plymouth Meeting Mall

Chabad of Lafayette Hill hosts this fun event featuring a giant donut menorah, music, latkes, crafts, and more!

An Evening of Jewish Music with the Kesher Israel Congregation Band

December 23, 7 pm

Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, 226 N. High St., West Chester

 

Enjoy both traditional Jewish melodies and those from contemporary Jewish composers in addition to seasonal music. Tickets available online.

Hanukkah Celebration at Shady Brook Farm

December 26, 5 pm

931 Stony Hill Rd., Yardley

 

Fun and fellowship followed by the lighting of the giant menorah at 6 pm.

Menorah Lighting at ACME

December 26, 5 pm

829 Montgomery Ave., Narberth

 

Chabad of the Main Line hosts a community menorah lighting at Narberth ACME at sundown.

Hanukkah at Elmwood Park Zoo

December 28, noon-2 pm

1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown

 

This celebration begins at the “Trail of the Jaguar” exhibit for games and craft, meet an education animal, then finish with a menorah lighting at the Eagles Deck.

Menorah Lighting at Giant

December 29, 5 pm

Wynnewood Shopping Center, 50 E. Wynnewood Rd., Wynnewood

 

Chabad of the Main Line hosts a community menorah lighting at Giant at sundown.
