Media Chinese New Year Parade

January 25, noon—1 pm
Margaret Kuo’s, 6 W. State St., Media


The parade begins in front of Margaret Kuo’s Media and will continue up and down State Street eating the cabbage left out by business owners, and spitting them out for good luck! Philly’s premiere “Lion Dancers”  will perform the traditional Lion Dance, complete with elaborate costumes, drums, cymbals, and dancing!

Chinese New Year at Elmwood Park Zoo

January 25, noon—1 pm

Elmwood Park Zoo, 1661 Harding Blvd., Norristown


Enjoy an educational program, crafts, and live animal greetings featuring “animals of the zodiac.” Plus, try on a dragon mask! Free with zoo admission.

Lunar New Year Party for Teens

January 31, 5–6 pm

Paoli Library, 18 Darby Rd., Paoli


To celebrate the Chinese New Year, participants will create a traditional Chinese paper lantern, sample various Chinese foods, and write their own fortunes. For grades 6 to 12. Registration required online.
