Description

Young Rembrandts: Nurturing Creativity and Artistic Growth
Young Rembrandts believes every child can—and should—learn how to draw. Their mission is helping students discover their inner artist and develop a lifelong love for the visual arts through a unique, hands-on approach that engages both sides of the brain.
Using a step-by-step drawing curriculum, students build fundamental drawing and coloring techniques alongside fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, critical thinking, and confidence. By focusing on drawing—the foundation of all visual arts—rather than craft projects, children experience meaningful artistic growth and a real sense of accomplishment.
Fresh Content, Every Week: Each week brings a brand-new lesson, keeping classes exciting and educational. The structured curriculum introduces essential techniques in a fun, engaging way while allowing students to grow at their own pace and create artwork that’s 100% their own—from pencil sketch to final color.
Inclusive for All Skill Levels: Programs are designed for children at every stage of artistic development. Whether just starting out or already drawing, every child is met where they are. Young Rembrandts believes artistic ability is shaped by personal progress, not age.
More Than Drawing: Students also explore art history, design, composition, and illustration, gaining a deeper appreciation for art and its rich tradition.
Program Options: Weekly preschool and elementary classes, school-closure workshops, seasonal camps (spring break, summer break, Mother’s Day), and Art Comes to School or Camp programs.

My 8-year-old has been taking lessons with Ms. Cristina Hartley at Young Rembrandts since she was 7 years old, and we absolutely love it. Ms. Cristina has helped her learn so much about drawing, and we have seen a remarkable improvement in her artistic skills over time.

We’ve participated in Young Rembrandts both during the school year and through summer camps, and the consistency and quality of instruction have been outstanding. Ms. Cristina is patient, encouraging, and truly talented at helping children build confidence in their art.

We couldn’t recommend her enough—she has made such a positive impact on our child’s creativity and love for drawing.

The Young Rembrandts program has been a wonderful fit for our daughter. She has been attending their after-school classes for over two years now, including summer camps, and has had a consistently great experience in both settings.

Through the program, she has not only developed strong artistic skills, but also gained confidence, patience, and creative problem-solving abilities—skills that are so important for a child’s overall development. We’ve been amazed to see her growth. She often receives compliments on her artwork at birthday parties, and on several occasions even older children have asked her for advice and support with painting.

Seeing how proud she is of her work and how eager she is to share her creativity with others has been incredibly rewarding as a parent. I would highly recommend the Young Rembrandts program to any family looking to nurture their child’s creativity in a supportive and encouraging environment.

My son attended a YR camp and loved it. He was so proud of his artwork and it helped him feel confident in his art skills from an early age. Highly recommend!

Art is something that everyone should have. It brings kids joy. Cristina and her team are providing something that more and more school districts are cutting. The arts are important.

As a teacher at Young Rembrandts Chester County, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible impact of our program on children. Cristina Hartley, the owner, has created a truly nurturing and inspiring environment where creativity flourishes.
The curriculum is engaging and thoughtfully designed: It’s not just about drawing lines; it’s about developing critical thinking, problem-solving, and fine motor skills.
The emphasis on process over product is invaluable: Children learn to embrace experimentation and celebrate their unique artistic journeys.
Cristina’s dedication to providing a positive and supportive learning experience is evident in every class.
I highly recommend Young Rembrandts Chester County to any parent seeking a high-quality and enriching art education for their child.”

My daughter (~age 10) did a summer camp and loved the experience. All the kids worked on the same project; an instructor led the class and helped each kid progress along as art was created. If you child only loves one type of drawing or medium, this class might not be for you. But if you have a child who is willing to try different things and follow along, they will likely have a great time. My kid was always happy to get out of the car and go to camp, and when I picked her up, she was sad to leave. There is a a structure to the class- it’s not a free-for-all art time– so for example, one week my daughter painted an abstract piece, and another week she did a drawing of an animal- the same projects that other kids were doing but all their finished work looked a little different. I loved the class for her because it was a huge break from being on an ipad, and it gave her the confidence that she could draw and “do” art. Now when she’s bored, she knows she can entertain herself!

We are so grateful to Cristina for the Young Rembrandts program. Our son was struggling in art class in school and it was negatively affecting his self-esteem. After a few months of doing the Young Rembrandt program, he has progressed so very much. His creativity has blossomed, his fine motor skills are greatly improved, and he proudly shows off his artwork to anyone who comes to our house! Thank you, thank you, Cristina for providing such a top-notch art program for our community!!
