“Acting Antics is an all-abilities theater group. They value diversity and inclusivity to incorporate children, teens, and young adults with a variety of disabilities into ALL of their theater productions. They use acting and theater techniques to help students with social skills and confidence. The creator, Cindy Schneider, along with the team of Rose Turbessi, Melissa Ferkler, Tia Allen, and other staff members tailor activities to each participant. It is truly heartwarming when my autistic daughter looks forward to the weekly meetings. She is welcomed in with open arms and smiles from peers and staff. This spring, she will be in her fifth production with Acting Antics!”

“I was lucky enough to have Mike work with my son, after many therapists and counselors made not one bit of difference…fast forward 5 years and my son has graduated high school and is attending a trade school to become a welder! There are still some tricky days, (and yes, I will blame most of those on screens!) “My daughter, who was 22, had a major stroke. She lost the use of her right leg, arm and her speech. She regained her mobility through Occupational therapy and Physical therapy after three years but still needed therapy for her Aphasia. We have worked with the Center for the past three years and she is now 25 years old and working. She still needs speech therapy to fine tune her speech, but the therapist’s here at the center are very skilled, professional and caring. She would not have recovered as quickly if it were not for The Speech & Language Center. We are so grateful.”

As a parent, I understand how crucial early diagnosis and intervention are for a child’s future, and Dr. Mindy Rosenblum and her team have gone above and beyond in making that process easier for families. With a shortage of diagnosticians in our area, Dr. Rosenblum opened this practice in 2023 to ensure children can access assessments faster, which means they can begin the critical therapies they need for better long-term outcomes. My own family has seen firsthand how much of a difference early intervention can make. The care, compassion, and professionalism that Dr. Rosenblum brings to every family is unmatched. During the 4 years we’ve lived in PA, we’ve struggled with the school system and with accessing appropriate mental health resources for our child. Even though the REACH group is an educational advocacy group, Dana was certainly very knowledgeable about both our educational and mental health resource needs, and recognized that both were related and relevant for setting our child up for success at school.
