Main Line Parent Monthly Must-Dos: March 2020

Top picks for family-friendly events and trends to keep on your radar as soon as you turn that calendar page.

We work hard to bring you fun events to keep your family busy every week and weekend. From babies to teens, and every age in between, we have ideas for you every single day! So many, in fact, it may be hard to keep track, and big events might sneak up on you. So to help your planning a little more, we’re bringing you our Monthly Must-Dos—high-level events and trends to keep on your radar as soon as you turn that calendar page. Here are this month’s top picks.

1. Celebrate Women’s History Month at Brandywine River Museum

1 Hoffman’s Mill Rd., Chadds Ford

March is Women’s History Month, and this year marks the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment! Votes for Women: A Visual History examines the visual culture of the suffrage movement– and how women spread their message through magazines, political cartoons, posters, plays, parades, and even fashion. There will be a special stroller tour of the exhibit on March 13.

2. Indoor Mini Golf at Linvilla Orchards

Through March 29

137 West Knowlton Rd., Media

‘Fore! The Planet’ is a highly interactive and playful museum exhibit created by the Academy of Natural Sciences with 18 holes of golf that each explores a different topic of our natural world.

3. Trolls World Tour at LEGOLAND Discovery Center

March 20-April 30

500 W. Germantown Pike, Plymouth Meeting

Get ready for the new Trolls movie with LEGO fun. Perfect your air guitar skills, dance like a diva or get Troll-ified with brightly colored hair. Plus, check out the Miniland LEGO model of Philly and see if you can spot the Trolls throughout the city!

 4. Longwood Gardens Orchid Extravaganza

Through March 22 (OrKID Day on March 14)

1001 Longwood Road, Kennett Square

Embrace the warmth of a lush sanctuary filled with thousands of vibrant, artfully presented orchids from around the world. On OrKID Days, there are special activities and hands-on stations just for children, so be sure to stop by on March 14 for this month’s event.

5. Celebrate Spring at Smith Memorial Playground’s Play-a-Palooza!

March 28, noon–4 pm

3500 Reservoir Drive, East Fairmount Park, Philadelphia

Smith’s annual Spring kick-off features special activities including nature play, live performances, obstacle courses, theater and soccer games, free books, giveaways, snacks, and other activities! Plus, it’s not truly Playground Season until you’ve taken an inaugural ride down the giant wooden slide! Tickets available online and at the door
