Since 1969, Bala House Montessori has provided an intimate learning environment where children are respected, the curriculum is challenging, and the classrooms are welcoming and peaceful. In partnership with families, our result is confident, happy children who carry a love of learning with them for a lifetime. The Montessori method of education is grounded in the concept that children are motivated by both a natural curiosity and a love of knowledge. A Montessori school cultivates a child’s innate desire to learn by setting up an environment that allows them to learn at their own pace, according to their own capabilities. Children acquiring basic skills in this instinctive way gain an early enthusiasm for learning, while developing independence, self-discipline, and respect for others.

The education and community at Bala House Montessori are the best gifts we have given our children. Each of my three daughters attended Bala House from age three and my third daughter will be finishing her Kindergarten year next year. As a family who has been a part of the school for almost a decade, we’ve seen how intentional and thoughtful every aspect of the education is from the curriculum to the specials and monthly enrichment programs to the field trips and school community events. The beloved teachers and staff provide a welcoming and nurturing environment that fosters an unshakeable love of learning, cultivates little leaders of all kinds, and somehow makes it all magical through their eyes. Bala House has set them up for life in ways I didn’t understand were possible at such a young age until we were there. I will always be grateful for this time in their lives.
