Main Line parents emphasize the importance of giving back through volunteering with kids and charitable giving. On May 8 and 9, 2025, support local Delaware County nonprofits during the Delco Gives event. This event provides a dedicated day of giving that helps an array of organizations doing good work in Delaware County.

What Is “Delco Gives?”

The Foundation for Delaware County started Delco Gives in 2024 to celebrate community nonprofits. This event raises awareness and funds for local charitable organizations by using an online donation platform.

In its first year, Delco Gives enabled 9,600 donors to contribute over $1.7 million to nearly 300 area nonprofits. Now in its second year, Delco Gives will take place May 8–9, 2025. Donors can visit the Delco Gives website, browse local participating nonprofits, and make a donation.

As part of this charitable event, the Foundation for Delaware County hosts celebratory events. These Delaware County events include:

What Organizations Participate in “Delco Gives?”

Any public charity organization operating within Delaware County can participate in Delco Gives. Donors choose from more than 300 causes to support. Charities run the gamut from legal aid services and volunteer fire departments, to youth organizations and animal rescues.

Aimee Rubin’s nonprofit Aneway For Purpose is participating in Delco Gives for a second time. Rubin also founded Game On State, an old-school arcade and candy shop that offers inclusive hiring in Delco. In January 2024, she launched Aneway For Purpose.

“Aneway For Purpose’s mission is to create businesses that will continue to employ and engage individuals with disabilities,” Aimee said of her Delaware County nonprofit.

“We are in the planning stages for another exciting opportunity to employ even more people,” she said. “We are hoping that the funds we raise through Delco Gives will help us be able to purchase the equipment needed for this endeavor.”

How Does “Delco Gives” Help Delaware County Nonprofits?

Through its promotional efforts and the establishment of the donor platform, Delco Gives provides a powerful, local fundraising opportunity. Delaware County nonprofits can earn additional funds through cash prizes sponsored by local businesses.

The event sparks generosity from the community. In 2024, a donor match gave Aneway For Purpose an additional boost.

“Last year, we raised $21,168 with the huge generosity of an anonymous matching donor,” Aimee said. “It created extra excitement and incentive for us to try to be able to meet the match.”

Aimee Rubin is excited and grateful to be challenged again in 2025 with another donor match.

“This year, a generous donor has once again pledged to match up to $10,000 in donations, and we hope to raise even more,” Aimee said.
