Morris ArBOOretum: Spooky Scarecrow Walk & Pumpkin Cottage

Morris Arboretum & Gardens’ Scarecrow Walk is back for the 16th year! This year’s theme is “The 1990s” in celebration of our 90th anniversary as a public garden. Scarecrows will be on display from October 1 through October 31. Visitors vote online for their favorite scarecrow to determine the winners! The top three scarecrows win a cash prize—top prize is $250!
As part of October ArBOOretum Month, the arboretum invites kids of all ages to enjoy the new Morris Pumpkin Cottage, a 100-square-foot exhibit covered in hundreds of pumpkins of various shapes and sizes. The Cottage, a throwback to when the area around the Morris used to be known as “Pumpkintown,” is tucked at the end of the Pumpkin Promenade, a small trail lined with pumpkins, gourds, scarecrows, and more.
Both the Scarecrow Walk and Pumpkin Cottage are free with general admission.
