Culture Films (Online): Wall Stories & The Calligrapher of Old Delhi

This virtual showing of two films of India are part of Penn Museum’s 2022-2023 culture film series Folklife. The series is a joyful celebration of local folkways: writing, storytelling, visual arts, handcrafts, cuisine, and other forms of expression which make places and people distinctive and create bridges to connect them with other cultures around the world.
“Wall Stories” and “The Calligrapher of Old Delhi,” films by Shashwati Talkudar and Ambarien Alqadar celebrate the magnificent and visual material culture of India. Hosted by filmmaker and anthropologist, Harjant Gill. Come join! ONLINE ONLY this month. Tickets are pay-what-you-wish.
