Captain America First Avenger (2011 film, PG-13)

On Movie Mondays, the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center presents some of their favorite movies. Tickets are $5 and include complimentary popcorn—a perfect family night out! This week’s feature is “Captain America First Avenger.” The Marvel franchise always delivers with this classic featuring Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, a frail young man recruited for a scientific experiment to create a super warrior. Epic battles ensue as Steve goes up against the Red Skull to prevent the universe from being dominated by control of the world’s energy. Led by the success of this first Captain America film, two sequels were produced. As usual, watch for a trademark cameo appearance by Marvel’s legendary artist, Stan Lee, and as for all Marvel films, plan to stay through the credits!
