Beth David Reform Congregation
Description

Beth David Reform Congregation in Gladwyne is more than a synagogue—it’s a home. It’s even in the name, "beth" (spelled בית in Hebrew) which means "house." At Beth David this also means a place of belonging where friendships grow and traditions come alive. Led by a dynamic clergy duo Rabbi Beth Kalisch and Cantor Lauren Goodlev—both parents of young children—Beth David is a joyful space for families of all kinds. It’s nurturing religious school, directed by the effervescent Rabbi Elisa Koppel, starts in kindergarten and grows with your child(ren) through high school. Harmony Summer Camp, under the direction of Sarah Gladwin Camp, offers children ages 2–7 a magical, immersive experience full of music, nature, water play, creativity, and new friendships.
Because Jewish life should be joyful, fun, and rooted in connection, Beth David offers a multitude of family friendly programming, including Tot Shabbat, Beth David Boogie movement experience, interactive family holiday celebrations like the Purim carnival and Shavuot picnic complete with bounce house and ice cream truck.
Beth David is deeply committed to repairing the world—partnering with neighbors of all faiths to make a difference together. Most of all, it’s a place where each person is seen and celebrated. There’s something meaningful for every age and stage.

My family is proud to belong to a temple where everyone involved takes seriously the call to respect and protect the divinity of all humans, regardless of religion. I’m thankful that Beth David serves as a guiding model in helping to create a community of interfaith neighbors working to find common ground with others during very complex times.
