Villanova is a suburb located on the Main Line, a historic stretch of towns outside of Philadelphia, situated in a picturesque area that’s characterized by rolling hills, wooded areas, and open green spaces. Villanova has a tight-knit community that’s characterized by strong civic engagement and a focus on family. The area is home to many community events, such as farmers markets, concerts, and festivals.

Which town do you call home?

“We live in Villanova.”

 

What drew you to the neighborhood?

“We are across from the Willows Park, the beautiful landscape and the proximity to the town of Wayne were big factors.  It is centrally located between where we work which is convenient.”

 

Which membership does your family get the most use out of?

“We love to take our son to Radnor Memorial Library.  They have a great play area, it’s a good way to meet other kids/parents, and membership is free!”

 

Which local park or playground is your favorite place to hang out?

“We love walking across the street to the The Willows Park; Stoneleigh is very close and nice as well.”

 

What is your go-to shop for kids’ birthday gifts?

“Kids n Kribs in Devon – the staff are so friendly, and they always do a wonderful job wrapping gifts in the store (at no extra cost!).”

 

What is your favorite local kid-friendly restaurant?

“Places that do a lot of takeout and typically are less crowded inside have been nice to go out to with our 1-year-old son, as they are usual very casual dine-in.  We’ve gone to Pizzeria Vetri several times together as a family which is nice as inside is very relaxed. And the pizza is great!”

What is the best piece of parenting advice you’ve received?

“It takes a village!” We are so lucky to have such loving and supportive family and friends, and they have been such a tremendous help as we raise our son and learn the ropes of parenthood. We couldn’t do it without this extra help.

 

You have friends visiting from out of town. What are your must-do local attractions?

“Downtown Wayne is always fun to go to with guests, it’s such a nice area.  Up the road, we love to grab a bite from the Lancaster County Farmer’s Market or DiBruno Brothers.  We usually recommend the Malvern Buttery or Gryphon Café for artisanal coffee and pastries.  Main Line Seafood and Sushi is our favorite spot in Paoli for fresh seafood and the best sushi on the Main Line, the staff there is great and the food is top notch.

 

One of Thana’s favorite local boutiques is Skirt in Bryn Mawr. If you are looking for timeless pieces for your wardrobe, or just want to splurge on something special – the stylists will make sure you have a bespoke shopping experience! For activities, we are in such a wonderful area to get outdoors, we usually recommend the local parks or driving up to Conshohocken and biking/walking on the Schuylkill River Trail (Valley Forge is a good destination if you are biking) and the Radnor Trail.”
