Want to round out your family’s bucket list for the summer — and into September — with festivals, fairs, and carnivals? Step Right Up for Family Fun This Summer

Take a ride on a thrilling coaster. Celebrate local history, culture, and music. Or get a taste of the best fresh produce around. Whatever your mood, the Main Line provides ample options for family fun. Read on for the details on some of the best local carnivals, fairs, and festivals around the Main Line.

Malvern Fire Company Carnival

Paoli Memorial Grounds and Malvern Memorial Park, 550 Monument Ave., Malvern
July 15 – 19, 2025, from 6 – 10 pm every eveningf

Not only will you enjoy summertime family fun, but you will also be supporting a a local fire company at the Malvern Fire Company Carnival. This event offers everything from traditional carnival attractions to fire truck rides. Additionally, you can catch a vibrant fireworks display on Friday night at 9:30 pm (rain date is Saturday). Discounted carnival tickets can be purchased online in advance. Parking is available at the fairgrounds with a donation to the fire company.

76th Annual Goshen Country Fair

1320 Park Ave., West Chester
July 28 – August 2, 2025, from 6 – 10 pm nightly (fair opens at 5 pm on Saturday)

The Goshen Country Fair, a summer staple for over three-quarters of a century, returns this season offering a traditional summer carnival experience. From delicious fair food, amusement rides, and agriculture judging, to livestock exhibits and even a dog show, the Goshen Country Fair has something for all. Another highlight is the Tug-o-War contest, often a competition between local fire departments. What’s more, there will be live music and a magician to entertain the kids. The Fair closes with a BBQ chicken dinner on Saturday at 5 pm.

Linvilla Orchards Peach and Sunflower Festival

137 W. Knowlton Road, Media
August 9, 2025 from 8 am – 6 pm

For a celebration of nature’s bounty in Media, head over to Linvilla Orchards’ Peach and Sunflower Festival. Peak peach season coincides with the blooming of Linvilla’s bountiful fields of sunflowers. The Festival’s hayrides will swiftly ferry guests out to Linvilla’s pick-your-own fields, where the peaches will be ripe for picking. All guests 11 months and older must have a ticket to head out to the fields.

Plan to make a day of it as Linvilla also offers plenty to keep your family entertained. Enjoy a playground, petting zoo, train rides, and face painting, in addition to a grill and beer garden. The rain date for this event is August 10th.

Philadelphia Folk Festival

Old Pool Farm, 1323 Salford Station Road, Harleysville
August 15 – 17, 2025 from 11 am – midnight (11 am – 9:30 pm on Sunday)

A local music fest you can camp out for? Right on! The Philadelphia Folk Festival, an annual tradition for generations of Main Line families, returns to Old Pool Farm this August. The event brings an eclectic mix of musical performers to multiple stages. You’ll find food and craft vendors, as well as cultural activities set up on-site, plus a designated area just for children attending the Festival.

Concert goers are welcome to bring their own picnics, although pets should be left at home. For those camping out, there will be a special preview concert on Thursday night, August 14th.

Kennett Square Mushroom Festival and Parade

State Street, Kennett Square Borough
September 6 – 7, 2025, from 10 am – 6 pm (Saturday) and 10 am – 4 pm (Sunday)

As the mushroom capital of the world, it’s only fitting that Kennett Square hosts a festival exclusively dedicated to their famous fungi. The Mushroom Festival, which draws thousands to Kennett Square each year, celebrates the local mushroom industry, considered one of the most sustainable farming industries in the country.

The weekend-long event kicks off with the festive Mushroom Parade on Thursday, September 4th at 6 pm. The celebration continues throughout the weekend with festival events including an amateur cooking contest (featuring mushrooms, of course) and a fried mushroom eating contest, as well as more traditional fair activities.

Marcus Hook Pirate Festival

Municipal Park, 4 E. Delaware St., Marcus Hook
September 20, 2025, from 11 am – 6 pm

Families are invited to join a swashbuckling adventure on the river in Marcus Hook at the Pirate Festival. This celebration of maritime history will feature an authentic pirate encampment, historical demonstrations, and displays of traditional wares, weaponry, and beer-making techniques. Family-friendly entertainment options, including food, live pirate music, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, local crafters, and a beer garden, will complete the festive atmosphere.
