Empowering ages 4-18, their camps cultivate creativity and self-expression. From A Capella Singing to Improvisation, experience small groups and a 10:1 student-teacher ratio for personalized attention. Award-winning teaching artists guide young performers to develop authentic characters, culminating in a showcase at the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center. Located in West Chester, Uptown Studio camps cover various themes and age groups. Enrich your child's journey with creativity, skill-building, and a memorable performance.

My son started taking classes at WC Studio when he was 4 years old and it has always been a very positive experience. The teachers make it fun and encourage the students to use their own voice to interpret songs individually. The class environment is very welcoming and the teachers encourage students to take risks in a safe and non-judgmental space which allows the students to be confident and shine. My son is now 12 years old and he recently made his Broadway debut in the revival of Caroline, or Change. It was an incredible experience and he completely fit in with the cast because he was so well-trained and prepared to perform professionally on stage, thanks to WC Studio at Uptown! Therese Walden-Murphy is the best!

WCS at Uptown saved (and continues to preserve) my high school senior’s sanity during Covid. When other organizations shuttered or reduced offerings, WCS pivoted and actually INCREASED ways kids could become involved and creatively grow. The virtual options are rich, and the in-person instruction follows a stringent safety protocol to the letter. All of this is done without sacrificing teacher enthusiasm or student engagement. Therese in particular is unmatched in her ability to use her love and mastery of craft to inspire each child at his or her own level. During a generally bleak time, my daughter looks forward to and is able to find real joy in the silver lining that is West Chester Studio at Uptown!

WCStudio at Uptown! has given our daughter an amazing opportunity to explore her love of singing and acting in a positive environment of encouragement and creativity. Truthfully, I cannot say enough positive things about this program and what it has done for and meant to our daughter.
