DEAN Adventure Camps at Haverford College (formerly The Handwork Studio & Velocity Adventure Camps) is the natural evolution of over two decades of teaching thousands of kids the joy of learning by making, doing, and playing.
DEAN stands not just as their name, but as a journey for every camper - to Discover passions, Explore endless possibilities, Achieve goals, and Navigate thrilling adventures. Their focus is on encouraging campers to 'JUST TRY IT'; dive into diverse interests from woodworking, sewing, and cooking, to skateboarding, parkour, biking and so much more.
With a new all-inclusive camp model, one price includes longer camp days, 8:00-5:30 pm, a full buffet lunch and snacks provided every day, and 38+ unique program choices for grades ranging from Pre-K to 10th, a summer at DEAN is sure to be an amazing adventure!

My daughter (8-yrs old) loved Handwork & Fashion & Machine Sewing at the Handwork Studio at Avalon Elementary. She made a romper from scratch…picked out her fabric, cut, design & sew…I was seriously amazed and she was so proud, she wore that damn romper EVERYWHERE, for days on end🤣🤦🏼♀️. Totally worth every penny. Highly recommend!
