Fun Main Line Playgrounds
Visiting a new playground makes a beautiful day even better. Some Main Line playgrounds include public restrooms, picnic areas, and sandboxes. It’s easy to make a full day of it.
Ashbridge Memorial Park
1301 W Montgomery Avenue, Rosemont
If you’re looking for a playground with plenty of trees around for shade, Ashbridge Memorial Park is a great spot. With loads of playground equipment for the kids to roam about and climb on safely, this open park has ample space for you to watch your kids without being right on top of their fun. There’s a rock wall, a climbing net, and plenty of spaces for the smaller kiddos, too.

Haverford Reserve/Freedom Playground
9000 Parkview Dr, Haverford
For an expansive play area that will occupy your kids for hours, head to the Haverford Reserve. The volunteer-built playground is accessible to all. There’s a dog park, playing fields, and miles of hiking trails.
Kerr Park
Park Lane, Downingtown
The fully accessible Sky’s the Limit playground wins raves from parents for its appeal to kids of all abilities. It’s completely fenced in and conveniently located near various amenities, including picnic pavilions, bathrooms, playing fields, and even a trout hatchery.

Merry Place
600 Glendale Road, Havertown
With big volleyball courts, a gorgeous gazebo, and two separate playing spaces for younger and older kids, Merry Place has plenty of options. There is a nature walk, a mile-long paved path for walking, running, or biking, and a creek that is open for recreational fishing or, if you’re so inclined, a fabulous spot for an Instagram photo. There are bathrooms on-site, and plenty of parking.
Narberth Park
80 Windsor Ave, Narberth
Tennis, basketball, softball, volleyball, baseball, football, and soccer lovers will absolutely adore the Narberth Playground. Hosting several leagues in the area, this playground has a lot of open space for sports that can be used by the public when not in use by local teams. There are bathrooms on site, as an added bonus. In addition to the sporting areas there are plenty shaded areas for playing, benches, and newly renovated play equipment for children to climb and play on. Situated near the Narberth Community Library.
Penn Wynne Park
1214 E Manoa Road, Wynnewood
Parents love the combination of a traditional playground for older kids and a tot lot for the smaller set. There’s also playing fields and tennis courts nearby.
Sabine Park
201 Sabine Avenue, Narberth
Sabine Park offers a quiet, family-friendly environment. Stop by for a picnic at one of their picnic tables or host an event. It’s a nice park option for families who want a more relaxed playground outing.
South Ardmore Park
450 East Athens Avenue, Wynnewood
With a fenced-in play area with a foot of wood chip padding for safety, South Ardmore Park in Wynnewood offers a very safe space to play for your children, especially the ones who fancy themselves to be runners. Settled in a quiet neighborhood, this is a great park for a lazy afternoon. Let your children play about on the updated playground equipment while you sit on a bench in the ample shade and relax.
St. Pauls Tot Lot
E Spring Avenue & St Pauls Road, Ardmore
Designed specifically for younger kiddos, this park has slides, playhouses, seesaws and more.
Wilson Farm Park
500 Lee Road, Wayne
There’s a lot to love about Wilson Farm Park. From the extensive sporting grounds to the fun frisbee golf course, you could fill an entire day without leaving. There are picnic areas, shaded spaces, open fields for frolicking, and conveniently, restrooms on site. This is a particularly great playground to bring your little ones to—Wilson Farm boasts three tot lots for the younger kiddos to enjoy.

Playgrounds Outside the Main Line (But Worth It)
Pile the kids in the car and head out on the highway. Sometimes, a playground is worth the drive. Take a day trip outside of Bucks County for all kinds of family fun.
Black Rock Park
1286 Black Rock Rd, Phoenixville, PA 19460
This community park offers athletic fields, courts, open green space, and picnic areas for families to enjoy. The playground is unique, complete with zip lines, swings, and climbing structures that make it a favorite destination for kids of all ages.
Sisca Community Park and Gardens
525 W Main St, Trappe, PA 19426
This brand new playground opened in June 2025 to honor fallen Pennsylvania State Trooper / Trappe Fire Chief, Branden Sisca. With a gated perimeter and a soft foam floor, this playground is designed for all ages and abilities.. The playground is also surrounded by rainwater gardens and signage explaining the plants in them.
Manderach Memorial Playground
180 Swamp Pike, Neiffer, PA 19473 (Limerick area)
This well-loved playground, known for it’s two large red slides, is currently closed for a complete renovation. It is expected to open in September 2026.
