Liberté, Égalité, Macarons! Ardmore Hosts a Bastille Day Block Party This Sunday

Kick off Restaurant Week and celebrate freedom with a new Ardmore tradition!

Two of our Ardmore favorites, The Bercy and Delice Et Chocolat, come together this Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm host a Bastille Day Block Party in downtown Ardmore! This family-friendly event will close down Station Avenue at Lancaster Avenue, and kick off Ardmore Restaurant Week.

Describing the inspiration for the event, The Bercy co-owner Justin Weathers explains, “in France, Bastille Day – or La Fête Nationale – is celebrated across the countryside with outdoor dances, picnics, parties and neighborhood gatherings. We wanted to bring people together like that on the Main Line to share our love of French culture, food, and wine. We are excited to start a brand new tradition and signature event in Downtown Ardmore.”

Free all-ages fun includes bocce ball and cornhole, moon bounce, face painting, bracelet making and arts and crafts from Mudroom—plus you can stop inside Mudroom (on Station Avenue) for silk screening and ceramic Eiffel towers to paint and for purchase.

Plus, there will be can can dancers from the Pennsylvania Academy of Ballet from 11 am—1 pm, and then live Blues by the band French Cookin’ from 1—3 pm.

And of course, what is a French celebration without food and wine? The street fair will be filled with delicious eats, both inside and outside its host restaurants. Delice will present a selection of French quiches, pastries, crêpes, coffee and more—plus more than a dozen varieties of their award-winning macarons! Meanwhile, The Bercy will serve French-inspired street food outside, including merguez sausage on house-made demi-baguette.

To enhance your experience, The Bercy will also host an outdoor French Wine Garden with wines from around the country ($20 in advance or $25 at the door) including champagne and sparkling wines, rosé, two special Bastille Day cocktails, and even a mocktail!

If you’re still hungry, The Bercy will also have a Bastille Day Grand Brunch Buffet with an omelette station, waffle station, salad bar, desserts, and more. The brunch is $25 per person, and reservations are recommended.

Speaking of food deals, this Bastille Day party doubles as a kickoff to Ardmore Restaurant Week, which runs from July 15—28 and has prix fixe deals for lunch and dinner. And we’ve already done the leg work for you and recommended the best spots to bring your family!

Bon appétit!
