Our family has been part of Sungate for 5 years. Its curriculum is well balanced with academics and arts. As a micro school our children have benefitted tremendously from the one on one attention and a curriculum that meets my children right where they are in their development.
The social aspect, thoughtfully nurtured by the teachers, has helped my children grow into confident students who love to learn! Classes are often mixed age, with diverse learning styles, and students support each other regardless of age or ability. The parent community is active and supportive of each other. It has been a true joy and blessing for our family to be part of Sungate.

Sungate is the best decision we could have made when our now 8 year old went from kindergarten to 1st grade. He is neurodivergent and having completed an integrated waldorf kindergarten in 2024, finding a school placement for him to meet both his brilliance as well as his sensory integrative and social needs felt like it would be very difficult. We found SunGate and any worry literally vanished because this educational community met all of his needs. The teachers are fabulous, more than words can describe as in the entire curriculum. The school is holistically therapeutic and educationally powerful. The program is truly incredible as are the children and teachers. The care and nurture and love my son receives at Sungate is something I thought would only exist in a dream and SunGate is has been a dream come true.

If I were recommending SunGate to a friend, I would tell them how much I love the program! From the homemade organic lunch every day, to learning life skills (like cooking and gardening to name a few), to hiking and exploring in nature every day, to the warm home-like structure, it is unlike any program out there! While it is a ‘drop-off’ program, the parents are all very much involved as a community!
