Valentine’s Day Activities and Crafting
Whether you’re looking for a creative outing with the little ones, a craft activity for teens, or a fun drop-off option so you can enjoy a date night, the Main Line has sweet Valentine’s Day events for every age. From museum art sessions and terrarium workshops, to pottery parties and traditional paper crafts, these celebrations of love and friendship offer something special for the whole family.
Family Art & Story Hour (Valentine’s Day theme)
Frances M. Maguire Art Museum, 50 Lapsley Lane, Merion
February 6, at 10:30 am
Bring your little sweethearts to the Maguire Art Museum on the campus of St. Joseph’s University for a Valentine-themed Family Art and Story Hour. This month, participants will read “Hug Machine,” search for hearts throughout the museum, and create Valentine’s Day art.
The program is free and open to the public and is ideal for toddlers and pre-K, though all ages are welcome. Stick around to browse the “Cozy Collection” children’s gallery and the beautiful 12-acre Barnes Arboretum.
Valentine Terrariums for Teens
Tredyffrin Library, 582 Upper Gulph Road, Strafford
February 11, from 4:30–5:30 pm
Teens can create their own modern terrarium in this Valentine’s Day workshop. Participants will design a miniature garden and learn how to care for air plants so they stay healthy and vibrant. This hands-on program blends creativity with plant care basics, and everyone takes home their terrarium creation. Registration required.
Valentine’s Day Workshop
Historic Trappe, Dewees Tavern, 301 W. Main Street, Trappe
February 14, from 10:30 am–3:30 pm
Celebrate the day of love by crafting as a family in historic Trappe. Families are invited to create watercolor cards and paper cut hearts inspired by Pennsylvania German fraktur and Scherenschnitte (scissor cuttings). All ages are welcome, and younger kids can enjoy a heart-themed scavenger hunt around the museum. Cost is museum admission, which includes all materials.
Kids Palentines Pottery Party
Engage Art Studio & Artisan Gallery, 1005 N. Gravel Pike, Schwenksville
February 14, from 5:30–8:30 pm
Drop off the kids for a creative evening while you enjoy a Valentine’s date! Kids ages 6 and up will create clay projects by hand and on the wheel, enjoy snacks and games, and watch “Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown.” $45 per child — register in advance here.
Valentine’s Day Family Celebrations

Friends of Easttown Library “Happy Birthday, America!” Valentine Tea

Looking for a reason to get dressed up this Valentine’s Day while supporting a local library? Then don your fanciest frock for the Friends of Easttown Library’s annual family tea party. This year’s festivities will honor the 250th Birthday of the United States. Tea party guests can enjoy delicious treats, celebratory crafts, and more.
Tickets are on sale at the Circulation Desk at Easttown Library for $15 each (cash or check only) and online. All proceeds benefit Easttown Library. This event is recommended for ages 3+.
Valentine’s Day Party and Dance Class
The Studio of Valley Forge, 945 N. Valley Forge Road, Devon
February 7, from 12:30–2 pm
Princes and princesses are cordially invited to join The Studio of Valley Forge for a magical Valentine’s Day party. This event will feature a dance class, movement games, story time, and a special craft! Costumes welcome.

Valentine’s Day Party with Mickey and Minnie

Galentine’s and Adult Valentine’s Day Fun
Celebrate love and friendship this Valentine’s season with creative workshops and enchanting garden experiences perfect for date nights, Galentine’s gatherings, and romantic evenings.
Flower Glass Press Workshop
Evansburg Vineyards, 3857 Germantown Pike, Collegeville
February 5, from 6–7:30 pm
Join local florist Paige Smith for a creative Galentine’s Day celebration and learn how to make beautiful framed flower press art. Participants will design their own pressed flower piece using natural, locally-grown flowers in an octagon floating frame. All materials are provided, including pressed flowers, glue, and tweezers. Plus, each $50 ticket includes a glass of wine and appetizer of choice to enjoy while crafting. Register here.
Garden Glow Evening Exhibition
Longwood Gardens, 1001 Longwood Rd., Kennett Square
February 13–15, from 5–10 pm
This Valentine’s Day weekend, take a stroll with your sweetheart through Longwood Gardens’ Conservatory and Main Fountain Gardens during Garden Glow, a brand-new evening experience where nature meets light. Luminaria-lit paths guide visitors to floral displays including an installation of blacklight-illuminated bonsai and a suspended exhibition in the West Conservatory. Outside, artist Daan Roosegaarde’s SPARK exhibition sends thousands of biodegradable sparks floating skyward like fireflies.
Garden Glow tickets must be purchased separately, but also include all-day admission to Longwood Gardens for the day of the reservation. The SPARK display runs from 7–10 pm nightly, weather-permitting.
“Love Bug” Galentine’s Cupcake Workshop
Stone & Key Cellars Tasting Room, 57 E. Butler Avenue, Ambler
February 14, from 2–3 pm
Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples and kids. Celebrate Galentine’s Day with your besties in the sweetest way possible at a cupcake decorating workshop for adults 21+. Local baker Nika of A Whisk Worth Taking will guide participants through creating adorable cupcake masterpieces, demonstrating how to make roses and hearts. Each guest will decorate six cupcakes in vanilla, funfetti, and chocolate chip vanilla flavors using piping bags, sprinkles, and holiday decorations.
The fun includes a glass of wine or cider to sip while decorating, plus a take-home box to show off your delicious creations. This 21+ event is $60 per person, with tickets available online.
Self-Love Valentines Day Workshop
