She opened up King of Prussia Doulas agency in 2017 and has provided hundreds of families support in the last seven years. In 2023, she opened a Family Wellness Center in the Valley Forge Towers in King of Prussia, where childbirth education classes are held, and services are available from a massage therapist, pelvic floor physica therapist, and counselors for mental health. She is changing the culture for birth, postpartum, families, and babies. She is a true entrepreneur and a force to be reckoned with! She works hard and provides top notch care and support to both the clients and doulas for King of Prussia Doulas.”

A Vision Born from Personal Experience

Lacey’s journey into the world of doula work began with her own challenging first birth experience. “My first birth left me feeling traumatized and isolated,” Lacey shares. This pivotal moment inspired her to make a difference: “I wanted to leave birth better than I found it. I wanted all birthing individuals to feel seen, heard, respected and to have maintained their autonomy through their entire perinatal experience.”

Building Bridges in Healthcare

When Lacey started her doula practice, she cleared significant hurdles in gaining acceptance within the local medical community. “We were not well received at the local hospitals,” she recalls. Undeterred, Lacey and her team worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between doulas and medical professionals. Their approach of providing unbiased support, educating clients, and fostering respectful relationships with healthcare providers has paid off. “The physicians in the area respect us and we respect them too,” Lacey proudly states.

Expanding Services for Holistic Care

In 2023, Lacey took a significant step forward by opening a Family Wellness Center in the Valley Forge Towers. This center offers a comprehensive approach to perinatal care, including childbirth education classes, massage therapy, pelvic floor physical therapy, and mental health counseling. As Jackie puts it, “She is changing the culture for birth, postpartum, families, babies, etc.”

Empowering Through Education and Support

Lacey’s commitment to empowering families goes farther than offering physical support. She has dedicated countless hours to supporting individuals struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. “Seeing them make it to the other side of their depression and anxiety, to a place of building bonds with their babies and to finding the joy in their postpartum period will forever hold a place in my heart,” Lacey shares.

Mentorship and Team Building

As a leader, Lacey is deeply committed to her team of 45 doulas. She provides regular support through monthly team meetings, quarterly one-on-one calls, and ongoing guidance. “I love pouring wisdom into the doulas in the area, challenging biases, guiding the path forward for this industry and helping them to help others,” she says.

Community Engagement and Giving Back

Lacey’s commitment to her community is evident in her various initiatives. King of Prussia Doulas maintains a charitable contribution fund to offer free or low-cost support to families in need. They also contribute to the Annual Drive for Philadelphia Mothers and Children and raise funds for fetal and infant loss awareness.

Personal Growth and Inspiration

Lacey’s personal journey of growth continues to inspire those around her. A recent 46-day road trip with her three daughters exemplifies her spirit of adventure and self-discovery. “I returned a much happier, lighter, inspired person. I found myself while I was away,” she reflects.

Looking to the Future

Lacey’s vision for the future is ambitious and rooted in her passion to continually improve upon perinatal care. She aspires to open a birth center with complementary care built-in, including a postpartum hotel-style care facility. “I can’t wait to expand in the coming years,” she says, her enthusiasm palpable.

Lacey Morgan’s journey from a traumatic birth experience to becoming an influential force in perinatal care is a testament to the power of forging personal challenges into positive societal change. Through King of Prussia Doulas and her expanding services, Lacey continues to redefine and elevate the standard of care for expectant and new parents in her community.
