The start of the school year is a great time to explore fall sports for preschoolers on the Main Line and get your kiddo moving. Give your little one a feel for a variety of sports and activities with a multi-sport program. Or, narrow in on what they love to do already. Either way, the Main Line has a ton of sports and activities for youth this fall.

Main Line Fall Sports for Young Children

Young children can enjoy fall favorites like soccer or try something new, like fishing. Here are some ways to keep your little ones active, social, and engaged throughout the fall season.

Amazing Athletes

Amazing Athletes gives children ages 2 and up the opportunity to explore a variety of sports in a fun, non-competitive setting. Along the way, children strengthen balance, coordination, and motor skills while learning about teamwork, nutrition, and healthy habits. The multi-sport format helps young athletes discover new interests and build a positive connection to physical activity from an early age.

In Fall 2026, Amazing Athletes will offer two fun-filled Friday morning classes at Gladwyne Park for children ages 2–5.

Dragon Gym Martial Arts

Dragon Gym Martial Arts’ highly skilled instructors teach martial arts classes to children ages 3 and up. The Kids Martial Arts Program is tailored to build self-esteem, and real-world skills like communication, confidence, and discipline. Dragon Gym has been serving the Main Line area for over 50 years with locations in Exton, Malvern, Berwyn, and Phoenixville.

Greater Philadelphia YMCA

The Upper Main Line, Haverford, Ambler, Spring Valley and other YMCAs all offer a variety of activities for children. Sign your little one up for preschool-level basketball or soccer. The YMCA’s Intro to Sports class invites children to try a variety of sports wrapped up in one program.

In 2026, early fall sports registration runs Aug. 19–Sept. 20, and late fall sports registration runs Oct. 14–Nov. 15.

They also offer other courses your outdoorsy child will love including Backpacking Fundamentals, Intro to Camping, and more. Hiking Hounds works with local municipalities, including Upper Providence and Radnor.

i9 Sports Malvern & West Chester

i9 Sports offers a variety of youth sports leagues for children in Malvern. In Fall 2026, children ages 4–12 can participate in flag football, soccer, and baseball. Basketball season runs late fall into winter.

The Little Gym Ardmore

TLG offers classes for children as young as 4 months old, and up to age 12. The Bugs, Birds, Funny Bugs, and Giggle Worms classes are a mix of climbing, running, dancing, and gymnastics. Classes are designed to empower young children and strengthen their social, physical and emotional skills. With a five-star rating on Google, parents are raving about TLG Ardmore.

Little League

Nothing beats fall weather at a baseball diamond. It’s the perfect time to keep playing without the intensity of the spring season, or to learn the sport for the first time. Main Line families can find fall programs through leagues like Lower Merion, Radnor-Wayne, Chester Valley Little League, and many more. From tee ball to majors, find the league in your geographic location to register.

Next Level Sports

Based in Ardmore, Next Level Sports originated as a youth flag football league and went on to develop basketball, track and field, and sports clinic programs.

This fall, NLS offers co-ed flag football for kids in pre-K–2nd grade and all-girls flag football for 3rd–8th graders. They offer tennis and volleyball programs, as well. Leagues play at various locations across the Main Line including Lower Merion Township Field and Penn Wynne Park. They also host nerf battles, adult sports leagues, birthday parties, and an array of camps.

Located in Bridgeport, REACH’s fall schedule offers class times both during the week and on the weekend. Their climbing and ninja classes are broken into three age groups to suit children ages 3–13.

Tiny Ninjas, Ready Ninjas, and Super Ninjas are obstacle-based classes that build agility, balance, and upper body strength. Meanwhile their Tiny Reachers, Ready Reachers, and Super Reachers classes teach the fundamentals of climbing.

Soccer Stars

Main Line Soccer Stars year-round soccer programs for children ages 1–12. The youngest players learn fundamentals alongside a parent or caregiver. Soccer Stars creates a fun, non-competitive environment that builds confidence in each player. Classes are offered at local parks & recreation facilities, schools, libraries, churches, and other convenient Main Line locations.
