Merrymead Farm’s Fall Harvest Days

Fall Harvest Weekends run September 20 through October 31st (confirm hours on their website)
Merrymead Farm’s Fall Harvest Days kick off for the 2025 season on September 20th and run on weekends until Halloween. Well-known for their dairy store and scratch-made ice cream (homemade pumpkin ice cream anyone?), they also offer a host of fall amusements.
Take a hayride around the farm and peep the beautiful fall foliage. Then, get lost in their corn maze, take a trip through the cornstalk tunnel, enjoy playing in the corn bin, and snap a photo in their sunflower field (where you’re welcome to PYO). The farm also hosts seasonal events and has farm animals to visit, making it a perfect destination for those looking to experience all the joys of autumn in Montco.
Fall Fest at Northern Star Farm
112 East Third Avenue, Trappe
Fall Fest runs September 13th through October, Saturdays & Sundays, 10 am–5 pm
Celebrate all things autumn at Northern Star Farm’s annual Fall Fest. For $10 per person (children ages 23 months and younger are free), guests can hop on a hayride to the pumpkin patch, explore their 7-acre corn maze and hay bale tunnel, visit adorable farm animals, and play a host of backyard games.
This year, they’ve added arcade games like skee ball and a football toss. For an additional fee (ranging from $4-9/person), take a turn with their giant apple sling shots or air cannons, visit the Little Farmer Playbarn, paint a pumpkin, or play a round of paintball. After all that fun, savor apple cider, fresh baked seasonal pies, or sample their all-new apple cider slushie.

Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards

A visit to Linvilla Orchards‘ Pumpkinland is a Main Line-area autumn tradition. This Delco orchard offers a plethora of fall activities to get your family in the spirit of the season. Search through piles of pumpkins to select your perfect pick. Experience larger-than-life, seasonal character cutouts and scarecrows. Families can also enjoy pick-your-own apples, corn mazes, pony rides, train rides, and delicious treats like fresh apple cider donuts, apple cider slushies, and Linvilla’s famous Harvest Float.
Linvilla also hosts an annual Apple Festival when their crop is usually at its peak. This year, on Saturday, September 27th, visitors can can choose from the many varieties of apples grown at Linvilla when their PYO fields open at 8:00 am. Try their apple blasters for some unique fall fun. With picturesque views and excitement around every corner, a visit to Linvilla Orchards is sure to become an annual event for your family.

Marcus Hook Pirate Festival
Market Square Memorial Park, 4 E. Delaware St., Marcus Hook
September 20, from 11 am–6 pm
While not a traditional fall harvest event, families are invited to join a swashbuckling adventure on the river at the Marcus Hook Pirate Festival this September. This one-day celebration features an authentic pirate encampment complete with period tents, historical demonstrations, and displays showcasing the golden age of piracy.
The Park area will also offer family-friendly entertainment including games, food, live pirate music, and a petting zoo. This event is a fundraiser for preservation efforts at the Plank House, an 18th Century home that was the purported residence of Blackbeard’s mistress.
Fall Festivals in Chester County
Whether you’re looking to enjoy live music, festive fall eats, or kick back on a hayride through the fall foliage, Chester County has no shortage of options for your seasonal enjoyment. Between orchards, family farms, and even a garden center, there is plenty of fall festival fun to be had in Chesco.
Fall Harvest Weekends at Highland Orchards

Fall Harvest Weekends run September 20 through November 3, from 9 am–4 pm
Enjoy hayrides and festive activities for the whole family at Highland Orchards‘ Fall Harvest Weekends. Start your day with a 20-minute scenic hayride through the orchards to peep the fall foliage (note these hayrides do not go to the PYO fields). Visitors can then pick their own apples and pumpkins, and enjoy pony rides and face painting.
Don’t miss Highland’s challenging corn maze (plan for it to take up to an hour) and apple cannons. For refreshments, sample their homemade apple cider and apple cider donuts, or visit the Amish BBQ on Saturdays. With a charming farm market offering locally-made goods, Highland Orchards is the perfect destination for celebrating the fall season.
Fall Weekends at Olszanowski Farm & Pumpkin Patch
315 Pughtown Rd, Spring City
Open Saturdays & Sundays starting September 27, 2025, from 11 am–5 pm
Head out to Olszanowski Farm for a quintessential fall experience. This Phoenixville-area local farm grows its own pumpkins, sunflowers, gourds, cornstalks, and straw. Take a scenic hayride out to the patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Then get lost — and found — in their seven-acre corn maze.
Olszanowski’s sunflower maze is perfect for guests of all ages and makes for a festive family photo opp. The hayride is $3 and pumpkins are priced per pound; the corn maze is $8 per person. Olszanowski’s does allow well-behaved pets on a leash.

Pumpkinland at Colonial Gardens
745 Schuylkill Road, Phoenixville

Although Colonial Gardens in Phoenixville is not a farm, they’ve got a festive fall experience for all ages. Hunt for your perfect pumpkins and gourds in Pumpkinland. With its friendly cartoon characters, scarecrows, hay hutch, and over ten tons of pumpkins, Pumpkinland is your Chesco destination for fall fun.
Don’t forget to explore their cornstalk maze, Halloween Funhouse, and Casper’s Sunken Treasure, all perfect for the little ones (fees apply). During the daytime, take a friendly hayride through their woods. Tickets can be purchased on-site and children 2 and under are free with a paid adult. Kids also love the pumpkin painting station and the delicious fall treats and hot apple cider are perfect for a chilly day.
Fall Festivals in Bucks County
Don’t forget to add lovely Bucks County to your list of fall destinations to visit this year. Scarecrows in the Village at Peddler’s Village in New Hope offers one of the most unique fall experiences around.

The fall festival offerings in Lancaster County are certainly worth the drive from the Main Line. So pack up the fam and get ready for some autumn activities in Lancaster!
Fall Festival Weekends at Brecknock Orchard
390 Orchard Road, Mohnton
Fall Festivals open Saturdays, September 20 through October 25, from 9 am–4 pm (also open select Fridays and Columbus Day; see their website for details)
Take in the sights and sounds of the season at Brecknock Orchard’s Fall Festival days, happening Saturdays from September 20th through October 25th. This pick-your-own farm in Lancaster County offers wagon rides through their picturesque orchards. Pick your own apples and pumpkins, straight from the source. Enjoy fall crafts, caramel apple-making, a corn kernel box, and a play area complete with fall-themed games.
Brecknock’s Fall Festival days will also feature various rotating food vendors, ranging from BBQ and brisket to pretzels. Don’t miss their Apple Cider Gelati for a decadent fall treat. Admission is free, though Brecknock’s activities cost money and range in price from $6–$26. Cash, credit cards, and mobile payments will be accepted.

Cherry Crest Adventure Farm in Lancaster County offers bushels of fall fun. From navigating their five-acre corn maze to picking pumpkins in their patch, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Guests can take a ride on their farm tour wagon and play all day in various outdoor games and attractions.
The farm also hosts special fall events and concludes the experience with a fireworks display every Saturday night from September 13- November 1 at 8:30pm.
