Main Line of Public Works Bike Tour

Take an educational and invigorating bike ride following the historical “Main Line of Public Works”, a series of canals, inclined planes, and railroads. Bob Thomas, a preservation architect, historian, greenway planner, and keen cyclist, leads the group on guided bicycle tour that traces the route and some remains of this extraordinary collection of public works. You’ll even see some of the original stone ties that held the first rails! The tour, which, will leave the Villanova Septa Regional Rail Station at 10:30 am and will take you through Fairmount Park, will finish at the original station of the Philadelphia and Columbia Railroad, at Broad and Callowhill Streets. Free, capped at 25 riders. Register for this activity.
