Corpse Bride (2005 film, PG)

On Movie Mondays, the Uptown Knauer Performing Arts Center presents some of their favorite movies. Tickets are $5 and include complimentary popcorn—a perfect family night out! Their October theme is spooky and fun, and this week’s film is Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride.” This gorgeous, stop-animation musical fantasy features voice over performances from Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Emily Watson as Victor, Victoria and Emily (the Corpse Bride). Set in a Victorian-era town (of course), we hear a tale of love, murder, gallantry, and redemption woven with tragic characters, humor and music. The film was widely praised and scored multiple international awards for animation, characters, and direction.
