Nominated by friend, Erin Allsop:
“Allie Mazza is an exceptional person. Attaching one label to Allie would fail to capture who she is as a person and what she means to her community. Allie is a mother. Allie wears many hats, but the one she is most proud of is that of “mom” to her adorable 3-year-old son, Joey. Through her actions, Allie encourages mothers around her. She is the first mom to race her son up the jungle gym, read a story, organize a playgroup, or find the best playgrounds in the area. Most importantly, she models kindness. When I spoke to Allie recently, she said one thing she is most proud of is how her son, Joey, treats senior citizens with kindness when they visit local assisted living communities.
Allie is a business owner. She founded her own company, Brandywine Concierge Senior Services, based on her desire to help others navigate the challenges of aging. By providing her services free of cost, Allie helps families provide the best care to their loved ones. Allie is willing to lend her expertise to everyone in the community, answering questions, providing resources, or lending a listening ear, even to those that are not her clients.
Allie brings joy to her community. Caring for the senior population is more than just a job for Allie. She aspires to bring joy and light to senior citizens. Allie organizes groups of moms and children to visit local assisted living communities/nursing homes on every major holiday and season. Allie is a friend to all. I am so fortunate to have Allie as a member of my “village.” She is the person I call when the daily tolls of motherhood seem overwhelming. Allie deserves to be recognized as a Woman of Influence. Her kindness makes her a hero.”
A Passion Born from Experience
After years in the senior care industry, Allie repeatedly encountered adult children overwhelmed by the challenges of caring for their aging loved ones. This experience sparked a vision: to create a space that provides clear, responsive, and personalized guidance at no cost to families.
“I wanted to start my business to serve as a resource that enables families to get clear, responsive, personalized guidance for free,” Allie explains. “Because I structured my business in a way that I can serve my clients for free, I’m able to be a resource to so many people, which is truly amazing.”
Balancing Business and Motherhood
As a business owner and a full-time mother to a toddler, Allie is no stranger to the challenges that come with balancing her personal and professional life. To be present in both arenas, Allie often incorporates her son, Joey, into her work. “He has been to almost every senior living community in Chester and Delaware county,” Allie shares proudly. Together, they run a lemonade stand during summers, bringing generations together and helping to destigmatize aging in children’s eyes.
Making a Difference, One Family at a Time
Allie Mazza’s impact extends far beyond her local community. In 2020, when families couldn’t visit senior communities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, she created a comprehensive, free resource guide available to anyone navigating elder care during such unprecedented times. “To this day, I still offer this for free on my website,” she says. “I am so proud to say that people from all over the country have downloaded it and shared that it’s been helpful for them!”
Community Engagement and Support
Allie’s commitment to her community is evident through a variety of initiatives. She runs virtual support groups, manages Facebook communities, and organizes networking opportunities for clients and colleagues. Her volunteer work in senior communities and centers further demonstrates her dedication to giving back.
“Be a resource, not a sales pitch,” Allie advises. “Don’t hustle, align. And focus on helping others be successful, safe, and happy, and those things will come to you as well.”
Empowering Women and Mothers
As both an entrepreneur and a mother, Allie is passionate about changing societal expectations around these roles. “There are so many moms out here doing both and making it work,” she states. “While we can do it all, we need the support of those in society that aren’t wearing those hats to be able to reimagine business and motherhood.”
Looking to the Future
Allie’s goals for the near future include increasing the number of free dementia education programs she offers to the wider community. She aims to continue being a pinnacle of support, knowledge, and compassion in the senior care industry. Allie Mazza’s story is one of dedication, innovation, and heartfelt service. Through Brandywine Concierge Senior Services, she’s not just running a business – she’s changing lives.
