Hanukkah at Hogwarts with Temple Brith Achim
Join Temple Brith Achim for an enchanted evening celebrating Hanukkah like you’ve never experienced before!
Whether you’re a devoted Harry Potter fan, curious about Jewish traditions, or simply looking for a magical family night out, this event welcomes everyone. This event is perfect for families who’ve never been to a synagogue before, interfaith families exploring Jewish traditions, Harry Potter fans of all backgrounds, families looking for a fun, meaningful Friday night, anyone curious about Hanukkah, Temple members wanting to reconnect, as well as friends, neighbors, and colleagues. No Jewish background required. No Hebrew knowledge needed. Just bring your sense of wonder!
This event features:
- The Sorting Hat: get sorted into your House!
- Magical Activities & Stations including a potions class, wand making, dreidel duel, Menorah ring toss, a Tri-Wizard tournament, and photo booth to capture your Hogwarts memories.
- Special Performances: Opening Day at Hogwarts ceremony with Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson, Shir Squad performing Hanukkah songs, learn the “spells” (blessings) that keep the light alive, Magic show with Dumbledore
- The Great Hall Feast: enjoy a FREE dinner including Lumos Latkes with applesauce & sour cream, Golden Snitches (chicken tenders), Sufganiyot Spells (jelly donuts!), and more.
- House Competition: earn tickets for your house at each station. The house with the most points wins the House Cup!
