Tyler After Dark: Firefly Walk in Media
Join a magical after-hours hike to witness the bioluminescent display of fireflies! Participants will venture into the forest to explore fields, meadows, and forest edges—ideal spots for firefly watching during peak season. Tyler’s knowledgeable guide will point out seasonal highlights and natural features along the way. Hikers may also spot some of the nocturnal wildlife that inhabit Tyler’s grounds.
This relaxed-pace hike welcomes adults and youth who feel comfortable walking on uneven terrain, including occasional short, steep sections. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. Participants should wear sturdy shoes with good grip and bring a flashlight.
Important Details: This program occurs after Tyler’s regular operating hours. The front gate opens at 7:45 pm and closes promptly 10 minutes after the start time—timely arrival is essential. After parking, participants should check in with staff at the Visitor Center Patio, where the group will meet.
Pre-registration is required and closes at 5:30 pm on the day of the program—early registration is recommended!
This event is for adults and youth ages 12-17 only and all youth must be accompanied by a registered adult. Rain date: Friday, July 11, 8:00 to 9:30 pm.
