The Spring Valley YMCA invites community members and triathletes of all levels to participate in the annual “Tri for the Y” (running, swimming, biking) event benefitting the Coach Brian Kozera Scholarship. Brian Kozera, former head coach of the Spring Valley Y Multisport Gators and a Corporal in the Norristown Police Department, was a dedicated First Responder and passionate about triathlons.
Registered tri-athletes will participate in 15-minute intervals of swimming, biking, and treadmill running (with 5-minute transitions between) across the indoor facility. The Tri for the Y is a triathlon for beginners, seasoned athletes, and everyone in between, though participants must be 6 years of age or older. Anyone ages 6 to 9 will need to participate with a
guardian and anyone ages 10 to 11 will need a guardian present to observe. Participants who are ages 12 and older can compete on their own.
The fee for this event is $40 per person. Participation fees benefit the scholarship fund, and participants will receive a shirt and medal.
