“Welcome to the Renaissance” and the hilarious, crowd-pleasing musical comedy, Something Rotten! Travel back to 1590 and Shakespeare’s England where two playwright brothers, Nick & Nigel Bottom, are desperate for a hit. After visiting a soothsayer that reveals the future of theatre will include singing and dancing, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s first musical! Against the “Will Power” of others, the brothers end up realizing the best version of success is when they’re true to thine own selves.
Something Rotten premiered on Broadway in 2015 and was nominated for 10 Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score and Best Musical! Summer Stage’s production will be directed by Patrick Walsh and choreographed by 2-time Barrymore Award-winner Devon Sinclair.
Please note that Saturday, July 26th’s afternoon matinee performance will be sensory-friendly. There will also be evening shows on Saturday, July 26th and August 2nd at 7:00 pm.
