(Not So) Spooky Ghost Stories & S’mores Night at McKaig Nature Education Center

October 24, 2025 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Head to McKaig Nature Education Center for a hauntingly good time on Friday, October 24th, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at the historic Old Roberts Schoolhouse.

Get ready for an unforgettable evening packed with ghost stories, delicious s’mores, a night trail hike, and plenty of fun. Gather ’round a crackling bonfire to roast marshmallows. While you enjoy your treats, settle in for captivating, (not so) spooky tales that will get you in the Halloween spirit!

Open Mic Night – Share Your Spooky Tales! This event will feature an open mic segment! Kids and parents alike are encouraged to share their own spooky seasonal stories or read local ghost tales. Let your imaginations run wild and be part of the show!

6:30 to 7:45pm: Bonfire, S’mores, Stories
7:45 to 8:30 pm: Trail Night Hike.

Registration: this event is always a sell-out, so registration is required and is $22 for 4 s’mores fixin’s kits for McKaig members, $26 for not-yet members. Additional single fixin’s and water bottles available.

What to Bring: remember to bring your flashlights, beach chairs or ground blankets for comfortable seating. Portable toilets will be available on site. Additional s’mores kits will also be available for purchase.

Note: As the crescent moon will have set for the hike, RED flashlights are acceptable to bring on night hike.

Parking: please park in the Roberts Elementary School Parking Lot.
