HM 17th Regiment of Infantry at Historic Trappe
Step back in time at Historic Trappe and immerse yourself in a day of living history! Members of His Majesty’s 17th Regiment of Infantry will be at the Speaker’s House demonstrating essential 18th century domestic skills, including open hearth cooking, hand sewing, and historic laundry techniques. Discover how everyday tasks were carried out by soldiers and camp followers during the Revolutionary War.
While you’re there, enjoy guided tours of the Muhlenberg House, home of Revolutionary War hero General Peter Muhlenberg, and explore the Dewees Tavern’s galleries of Pennsylvania German folk art and furniture.
The Speaker’s House event this day is FREE; regular admission rates will apply for tours of the Muhlenberg House and Dewees Tavern.
