Day Out With Thomas at the Strasburg Rail Road

All aboard! Strasburg Rail Road’s Day Out With Thomas event allows tiny Thomas fans to get up close and personal with a favorite character. The event comes with several exciting Thomas-themed activities, all of which are included in the price of a train ride ticket that can be enjoyed before or after your excursion.

The train ride itself is a 30-minute trip through the rolling PA countryside. After the train excursion, visitors can check out the Imagination Station with temporary tattoos, storytelling, train tables, music, videos, and more. Sir Topham Hat, Chairman of the Railway on the Island of Sodor, will be available for visits and photo ops. When visiting Thomas and Percy, children can also climb aboard one of the Pint-Sized Pufferbellys, miniature steam engines with small, open-air cars that can take visitors for a ride along the 15-inch wide tracks. Kids will also have an opportunity to try their hands on a crank locomotive where they turn the hand pedals located on a crank to make the small cars move along a tiny track.

Plan to spend more than three hours at this event, including your ride on Thomas, Percy (available with Percy Package) and/or the regular excursion train (available as an upgrade). If your train ride is scheduled for the afternoon, arrive early to experience the exclusive extras before your afternoon ride. Similarly, if you have a morning ride, you can expect to spend extra time after your ride enjoying all that the station has to offer.
