Evening Orienteering Excitement – Night Navigation Adventure at McKaig Nature Education Center

November 1 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Prepare for an exhilarating evening of navigation under the stars at McKaig Nature Education Center at a nighttime orienteering event with starts available between 6:00 and 7:30 pm (full darkness after 6:45 pm).

McKaig is is 94.5-acre natural preserve in Wayne featuring unspoiled woods, picturesque creeks, and abundant wildlife, providing the perfect backdrop for your navigation challenge. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned pro, we have a course for you. This event featuresĀ Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced courses, designed to challenge all skill levels. Beginners are absolutely welcome. On-site instruction will be provided to get you comfortable with your map and compass.

Course Information:

  • Please ensure you bring a headlamp and/or a flashlight ā€“ navigating at night is part of the fun!
  • Meet at the Old Roberts Schoolhouse, located to the right of Roberts Elementary School.
  • Please wear closed-toe shoes and weather-appropriate attire. The event is rain or shine, but not in high winds.
