Comcast’s Long-Standing Commitment to Keeping Customers Connected

Eligible customers can get Internet Essentials or Internet Essentials Plus at no cost thanks to Comcast’s participation in the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program

It’s no secret that having reliable and affordable Internet is important – whether at home or through community resources. Comcast is proud of its long-standing commitment to advancing digital equity within the communities it serves through Internet Essentials, the nation’s largest and most comprehensive broadband adoption program. Since 2011, a cumulative total of more than 10 million people from low-income families to low-cost, high-speed Internet at home including more than 2.27 million residents in the tri-state area.

Today, eligible customers can get Internet Essentials or Internet Essentials Plus at no cost thanks to Comcast’s participation in the federal government’s Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP), which provides eligible low-income households with a credit of up to $30 per month ($75 per month on Tribal lands) toward their Internet and/or mobile service. Internet Essentials customers can also add a line of unlimited 5G cellular data ($45) through Xfinity Mobile for as little as $24.95/month after the ACP benefit is applied.

Each year, across Greater Philadelphia, New Jersey and northern Delaware, Comcast also awards millions of dollars to hundreds of nonprofit organizations to support digital adoption and skills training and supports 140 WiFi-connected Lift Zones across the region, which help connect students, families and community members to the Internet so they can fully participate in educational opportunities and the digital economy.

Internet Essentials and Lift Zones are part of Project UP, Comcast’s comprehensive, $1 billion pledge to advance digital equity through programs and community partnerships that connect people to the Internet, advance economic mobility, and open doors for the next generation of innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers and creators.
