National Dog Show

Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at Oaks, 100 Station Ave., Oaks
The Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s National Dog Show features 2000 dogs from 200 breeds, plus agility dogs, performance dogs, and therapy dogs, in day-long competition and demonstrations as part of the century-old Philadelphia tradition. Tickets available online; free for kids 3 and under.

Blooms & Bamboo at Longwood Gardens

Autumn is here … and with it comes a debut exhibit, the masterful Blooms & Bamboo: Chrysanthemum and Ikebana Sogetsu Artistry. Prepare to be wowed by towering bamboo art forms and enchanting arrangements by international artists. Autumn also brings a painted landscape of ever-changing color, the Garden Railway, and creative chrysanthemums meticulously grown into gorgeous forms throughout the Conservatory.

Dewey Decimal Dash Run/Walk and Post-Dash Bash

The Haverford Township Free Library is hosting its third annual Dewey Decimal Dash Run and Walk to help raise funds for the library’s collections, programs, and services. Run 5K (or walk a mile if running isn’t your thing). Teams are encouraged, as are costumes! Prizes awarded for Most Creative, Best Picture Book Character, and Funniest. Post-Dash Bash celebration afterwards in the library includes breakfast, storytime, music, picture booth, and raffles.
Mommy and Me: Happy Camper
