SUMMARY:Saturday Wildflower Walk: Summer Edition (Adult and Teen Event) at Tyler Arboretum
DESCRIPTION:Join wildflower expert Dick Cloud on an informative two-hour hike through meadows\, woods\, and occasionally streamside. Although the focus is on plants\, he will talk about whatever the group might see! In July and August\, the hope is to see a large variety of summer wildflowers. All levels of knowledge are welcome. \nTo avoid the hottest part of the day\, the July and August walks are scheduled for 11:00 am–1:00 pm\, with two exceptions: July 19\, 1-3 pm and August 16\, 1-3 pm. \nNote that there may be some periods of moderately paced hiking\, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. Feel free to bring a camera and a wildflower guide\, such as Peterson’s Field Guide or Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide\, if you’d like\, and enjoy a botanical-filled walk. \nPre-registration for this event is required. Please check in first at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide\, and please be on time. This event is rain or shine and is appropriate for adults (18+) and teens ages 12-17.

SUMMARY:Battle of the Bands Featuring Main Line and Delco School of Rock Bands in Philly
DESCRIPTION:Young musicians from the Main Line and Delco Schools of Rock will compete against their colleagues from other School of Rock locations in Philadelphia this weekend. Evil Genius Beer Company will host a Battle of the Bands Block Party from noon to 6 pm on the 1700 block of North Front Street in Philadelphia. \n\n\nSix regional School of Rock chapters and their student musicians will compete for glory under the El in front of a crowd and a panel of local music industry judges. The Main Line chapter\, based in Berwyn\, and the Delco branch from Media will compete against chapters from Philadelphia\, Newtown\, Hockessin\, and Deptford. \n\n\nThe winning band will be awarded two performance slots at Evil Genius to showcase their talent. \n\n\nDuring the event\, there will be a tent set-up for donations to the School of Rock Philadelphia\, and a portion of the day’s sales will be donated to their programs. Festivities also include various local vendors ranging from vinyls\, comics\, fashion and art. \n\n\nAfter the competition\, the Evil Genius taproom will host local alt-rock rising stars Tell All Your Friends\, who will close out the night with a set of alternative rock and pop-punk anthems from 8:00-11:00 pm. \nAll performances and events this day are no charge\, with beer\, food and shopping pay-as-you-go.

DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Rose Tree Summer Festival runs June 11 – August 10\, with evening concerts Wednesdays–Sundays on most weeks. \nFree concerts in Rose Tree Park’s scenic outdoor amphitheater have been a popular Delco tradition for more than four decades! Take in top-notch entertainment of all kinds\, from Classical to Cajun\, Motown to Broadway\, Doo Wop to Rock & Pop\, tribute shows and everything in between. \nCheck out the full 2025 concert schedule here. Showtime is 7:30 pm on Wednesday through Sunday evenings\, unless otherwise noted. \nThere will be two morning children’s shows this summer. On June 20th at 10:00 am\, Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band will excite and entertain young audiences with their interactive songs.  “The Plants” will also put on a kid-friendly show that all ages are sure to enjoy on July 3rd at 10:00 am. \nAttendees should bring blankets and chairs for seating. Admission and parking are free. Handicapped parking is available.
