SUMMARY:Brandywine Conservancy Community Waterside Gathering
DESCRIPTION:Join the Brandywine Conservancy for a day of family-friendly fun at their Community Waterside Gathering at Anson B. Nixon Park. \n\nCome out to learn about fishing in a pond\, lake and other bodies of water in the region with Legacy\, Land and Water Partners/Mid Atlantic Youth Anglers & Outdoors Partners.\nParticipate in Hands-on Pond Water Testing. Step into the role of an environmental scientist as Brandywine Conservancy staff guide you through hands-on water quality testing at the pond. Learn how to measure key parameters and uncover what they reveal about the pond’s overall health.\nJoin Clarke Green (author of cagksq) for a 20-30 minute guided walk along the Red Clay Creek in Anson B. Nixon Park\, exploring centuries of change from wetlands to milldams to modern restoration. Discover how native plants\, flowing water\, and community action are bringing this living stream back to health.  These walks will be offered at 10:30 am\, 11:30 am\, 12:30 pm and 1:30 pm.\nExperience a Bilingual Storybook Walk.  Come and read the book Tree Hugs with Kennett Library and then do a fun sensory hands-on discovery!  This guided activity will be offered at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. Participants are welcome to read on their own during the rest of the event.\n\nAll fishing equipment will be provided\, and close-toed shoes are recommended for fishing. If you have any questions\, please email jsteiner@brandywine.org prior to the program. \nThis event is free\, but advance registration is appreciated. Please click here to register. There is a permanent restroom near the parking lot\, and a porta toilet is available for use closer to the activities.

DESCRIPTION:The award-winning Clover Market will close out the fall season in Kennett Square on Sunday\, October 19 from 10 am to 4 pm. \nThe popup event will feature 95 carefully curated vendors offering a diverse selection of handmade and vintage goods\, a large lineup of food trucks\, beer and wine\, live music\, and more. This free event will transform the large lot\, located across from Kennett High School\, into a lively and self-contained artisan marketplace. \nThe food truck lineup for this event will feature Babalouie BBQ\, Dos Hermanos Tacos\, Philly Hots\, The Little Sicilian\, Hangry Bear Ice Cream\, Lola Patisserie\, Mayday Coffee\, and Braeloch Brewing & Grace Winery for the 21+ crowd. \nLive music from Hake & Jarema will take place from 12-3 PM\, and the Market’s younger visitors can enjoy crafts and face painting throughout the day. There were also be meet and greets with Finding Shelter Animal Rescue. Visitors are encouraged to explore the additional dining and shopping options on East State Street and along Birch Street in the charming downtown business district. \nParking is available in all of the Kennett High School parking lots directly across the street\, at the Linden Street Garage in town (120 E. Linden St.)\, and in all legal on-street spots.
