SUMMARY:Longwood Gardens Festival of Fountains and Illuminated Fountain Performances
DESCRIPTION:Relax and unwind amid stunning summer vistas at Longwood Gardens this season. Experience their vibrant Illuminated Fountain Performances on Friday-Sunday nights from May through September. \nLongwood’s Main Fountain Garden puts on daily displays as their 1\,719 fountain jets are set to music and soar as high as 175 feet in the air. From May through August\, these shows take place on Mondays\, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15\, and 5:15 pm\, and on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15 pm\, 5:15 pm\, and 8:15 pm. \nOn Friday\, Saturday and Sunday nights at 9:15 pm\, those same fountains are illuminated for dazzling\, 30-minute displays of water\, music\, and color. Bringing your own chairs for this event is strongly recommended. While Longwood strongly recommends chairs\, blankets will be permitted in designated locations. Chairs may be placed beginning at 12:00 pm. \nJuly 5th’s performance is a tribute to Prince entitled When Lights Dance\, while July 6th’s Come as You Are show features 90’s hits from the likes of Nirvana\, the Cranberries\, and MC Hammer. \nThis event is free with Gardens admission. Timed admission tickets are required (timed reservations are required for Members after 3:00 pm Fridays–Sundays).

For those camping out\, there will be a special preview concert on Thursday night\, August 14th.

DESCRIPTION:Colonna Contemporary is proud to present Offcuts\, a solo exhibition by collage artist Cat Russell\, opening August 15th at the Gallery. The show brings together a new body of work built from the margins\, the trimmings\, the edges\, the discarded pages that once lived other lives. \nIn an age dominated by speed\, efficiency\, and content churn\, Offcuts offers a quiet act of defiance. Each work\, constructed from scraps of old comics\, Gustave Doré engravings\, tagboard\, and forgotten pages\, is cut and assembled by hand\, layer by layer. The result: narrative-driven scenes and dreamlike abstractions that honor process as much as outcome. \nThe show’s title\, Offcuts\, captures both the physical and philosophical nature of Russell’s practice. These works\, born of what the world might overlook or discard\, become layered meditations on memory\, place\, and the beauty found in remnants. Some suggest specific histories or landscapes; others float in a liminal\, abstract space. Collectively\, they invite viewers to slow down\, to sit with the fragments\, and to reflect on what can be pieced together from what remains.

Local Artists this weekend will be Useful & Beautiful and local musicians Kevin Schramm and Lizard Creek. The Community Tent will be representatives from Friends of Crum Creek. This weekend’s kids’ activity will be making Juneteenth Spin Drums and is presented by members of the Wesley AME Church. \nThe Swarthmore College OneCard is accepted at most vendor stands and PA FMNP vouchers are accepted for fresh fruits and vegetables.

DESCRIPTION:Relax and unwind amid stunning summer vistas at Longwood Gardens this season. Experience their vibrant Illuminated Fountain Performances on Friday-Sunday nights from May through September. \nLongwood’s Main Fountain Garden puts on daily displays as their 1\,719 fountain jets are set to music and soar as high as 175 feet in the air. From May through August\, these shows take place on Mondays\, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15\, and 5:15 pm\, and on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15 pm\, 5:15 pm\, and 8:15 pm. \nOn Friday\, Saturday and Sunday nights at 9:15 pm\, those same fountains are illuminated for dazzling\, 30-minute displays of water\, music\, and color. Bringing your own chairs for this event is strongly recommended. While Longwood strongly recommends chairs\, blankets will be permitted in designated locations. Chairs may be placed beginning at 12:00 pm. \nJuly 5th’s performance is a tribute to Prince entitled When Lights Dance\, while July 6th’s Come as You Are show features 90’s hits from the likes of Nirvana\, the Cranberries\, and MC Hammer. \nThis event is free with Gardens admission. Timed admission tickets are required (timed reservations are required for Members after 3:00 pm Fridays–Sundays).

For those camping out\, there will be a special preview concert on Thursday night\, August 14th.
