SUMMARY:Journey to the Outer Planets at West Chester University's Mather Planetarium
DESCRIPTION:On September 5th\, join a live Planetarium show entitled “Journey to the Outer Planets” at WCU’s Mather Planetarium. Mather’s live presentations are given by a professional astronomer and consist primarily of an overview of what is currently visible in the night sky. In addition\, part of each show (approximately 10-15 minutes) focuses on a specific aspect of astronomy\, the topic of which changes each presentation. The shows are appropriate for all ages\, however\, the content and duration of the show may be more appealing to older children and adults. \nAll shows start promptly at 7:00 pm and run approximately one hour in length. Late arrivals will not be permitted to enter the planetarium so please allow adequate time for parking and walking to the planetarium. Doors open at 6:30pm. Shows are general seating. The cost of the show is $6 per person. Children under the age of 5 may sit on a parent’s lap for free. \nNo food or drink is allowed in the planetarium. \nThe planetarium is wheelchair accessible. Local Artists this weekend will be Useful & Beautiful and local musicians Kevin Schramm and Lizard Creek. The Community Tent will be representatives from Friends of Crum Creek. SUMMARY:Family Funday at Spruce Street Harbor Park
DESCRIPTION:Join Family Funday with PopUpPlay\, each Sunday from Memorial Day weekend to September 28th\, from 1:00-4:00 pm at Spruce Street Harbor Park. This event is free and open to the public\, and all ages are welcome. \nActivities include boat building\, puppet making\, and even constructing a working catapult. Each week promises captivating experiences for kids of all ages with a new make-and-take activity. These activities are available on a first-come\, first-served basis and are available while supplies last. \nParking on-site will be limited due to I-95 CAP construction. However\, many great ways to access the Waterfront include walking and biking along the Delaware River Trail\, rideshare\, and public transit. \nOutside food and beverages are allowed\, although alcohol is prohibited inside DRWC-owned public spaces and coolers are not permitted. Chairs may be occupied in public spaces during a special event or before the start of a special event. Any chair(s) left unoccupied will be removed.
