DESCRIPTION:Relax and unwind amid stunning summer vistas at Longwood Gardens this season. Experience their vibrant Illuminated Fountain Performances on Friday-Sunday nights from May through September. \nLongwood’s Main Fountain Garden puts on daily displays as their 1\,719 fountain jets are set to music and soar as high as 175 feet in the air. From May through August\, these shows take place on Mondays\, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15\, and 5:15 pm\, and on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15 pm\, 5:15 pm\, and 8:15 pm. \nOn Friday\, Saturday and Sunday nights at 9:15 pm\, those same fountains are illuminated for dazzling\, 30-minute displays of water\, music\, and color. Bringing your own chairs for this event is strongly recommended. While Longwood strongly recommends chairs\, blankets will be permitted in designated locations. Chairs may be placed beginning at 12:00 pm. \nJuly 5th’s performance is a tribute to Prince entitled When Lights Dance\, while July 6th’s Come as You Are show features 90’s hits from the likes of Nirvana\, the Cranberries\, and MC Hammer. \nThis event is free with Gardens admission. Timed admission tickets are required (timed reservations are required for Members after 3:00 pm Fridays–Sundays).

DESCRIPTION:Washington Memorial Chapel’s Veteran’s Commission will host a moving Choral Matins Service on Thursday\, July 4 at 11:00 am at the historic Washington Memorial Chapel. This annual Independence Day tradition honors the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans and military families with music\, prayer\, and reflection. \nSet within the sacred space of the Chapel—built as a tribute to General George Washington and the Continental Army—the Choral Matins service will feature the Chapel Choir presenting stirring patriotic hymns and sacred music. Scripture readings\, prayers for the nation\, and a sermon that reflects the enduring principles of freedom\, courage\, and faith will accompany the musical selections. Father Tim Steeves\, priest associate for the Chapel\, will preside over the service and offer special remarks about the importance of celebrating our nation’s founding while also remembering the men and women who have upheld the promise of liberty throughout our history. \nFollowing the Choral Matins\, a picnic lunch will be held in the Bishop White Courtyard on the Chapel’s grounds at 12:00 pm. The event is free and open to the public; however\, a $10 donation is requested and RSVP’s are requested. Guests are invited to stay after the lunch to enjoy the Chapel’s popular annual Independence Day Carillon Concert starting at 2:00 pm. Experience their vibrant Illuminated Fountain Performances on Friday-Sunday nights from May through September. \nLongwood’s Main Fountain Garden puts on daily displays as their 1\,719 fountain jets are set to music and soar as high as 175 feet in the air. From May through August\, these shows take place on Mondays\, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15\, and 5:15 pm\, and on Fridays\, Saturdays and Sundays at 11:15 am\, 1:15 pm\, 3:15 pm\, 5:15 pm\, and 8:15 pm. \nOn Friday\, Saturday and Sunday nights at 9:15 pm\, those same fountains are illuminated for dazzling\, 30-minute displays of water\, music\, and color. Bringing your own chairs for this event is strongly recommended. While Longwood strongly recommends chairs\, blankets will be permitted in designated locations. Chairs may be placed beginning at 12:00 pm. \nJuly 5th’s performance is a tribute to Prince entitled When Lights Dance\, while July 6th’s Come as You Are show features 90’s hits from the likes of Nirvana\, the Cranberries\, and MC Hammer. \nThis event is free with Gardens admission. Timed admission tickets are required (timed reservations are required for Members after 3:00 pm Fridays–Sundays).

DESCRIPTION:Join wildflower expert Dick Cloud on an informative two-hour hike through meadows\, woods\, and occasionally streamside. Although the focus is on plants\, he will talk about whatever the group might see! In July and August\, the hope is to see a large variety of summer wildflowers. All levels of knowledge are welcome. \nTo avoid the hottest part of the day\, the July and August walks are scheduled for 11:00 am–1:00 pm\, with two exceptions: July 19\, 1-3 pm and August 16\, 1-3 pm. \nNote that there may be some periods of moderately paced hiking\, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. Feel free to bring a camera and a wildflower guide\, such as Peterson’s Field Guide or Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide\, if you’d like\, and enjoy a botanical-filled walk. \nPre-registration for this event is required. Please check in first at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide\, and please be on time. This event is rain or shine and is appropriate for adults (18+) and teens ages 12-17.

DESCRIPTION:The 2025 Rose Tree Summer Festival runs June 11 – August 10\, with evening concerts Wednesdays–Sundays on most weeks. \nFree concerts in Rose Tree Park’s scenic outdoor amphitheater have been a popular Delco tradition for more than four decades! Take in top-notch entertainment of all kinds\, from Classical to Cajun\, Motown to Broadway\, Doo Wop to Rock & Pop\, tribute shows and everything in between. \nCheck out the full 2025 concert schedule here. Showtime is 7:30 pm on Wednesday through Sunday evenings\, unless otherwise noted. \nThere will be two morning children’s shows this summer. On June 20th at 10:00 am\, Steve Pullara & His Cool Beans Band will excite and entertain young audiences with their interactive songs.  “The Plants” will also put on a kid-friendly show that all ages are sure to enjoy on July 3rd at 10:00 am. \nAttendees should bring blankets and chairs for seating. Admission and parking are free. Handicapped parking is available.
