The parade will travel down S. Broad St. and turn west on State St. and will feature bands\, dancers\, floats\, and mushroom-themed entries. \nThe Festival itself will take place on Saturday\, September 6th from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm and Sunday\, September 7th from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Unique aspects of the Festival will include an amateur cooking contest featuring mystery ingredients and mushrooms and a fried mushroom eating contest\, as well as traditional festival activities such as food\, vendors\, family fun\, and live music. In addition\, part of each show (approximately 10-15 minutes) focuses on a specific aspect of astronomy\, the topic of which changes each presentation. The shows are appropriate for all ages\, however\, the content and duration of the show may be more appealing to older children and adults. \nAll shows start promptly at 7:00 pm and run approximately one hour in length. Late arrivals will not be permitted to enter the planetarium so please allow adequate time for parking and walking to the planetarium. Doors open at 6:30pm. Shows are general seating.
