DESCRIPTION:Join the Shipley School for their annual one-day\, self-guided tour through breathtaking private gardens. This year’s Secret Gardens’ lunch stop will be at Appleford Estate and will feature a selection of vendors\, including blooms and crafts for sale created by our talented Shipley Sprouts and art students. \nThis event is great for all ages. Whether attending alone or with a group\, you’re sure to enjoy a memorable experience\, regardless of your level of horticultural knowledge! \nA map and tickets for the tour will be mailed to guests beginning in late-April. While the map will provide a suggested route\, the tour is self-guided and guests may visit gardens in any order throughout the day.  All group tickets will be sent to the ticket purchaser and extra maps will be available for pickup at Shipley before the tour\, or at the tour stops. An electronic map will be shared with all registrants in early May. \nLimited tickets are available for both the 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. lunch\, and the 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. lunch. Both lunches are filled on a first-come\, first-served basis\, and will offer gluten-free\, dairy-free and vegan options. \nTour Ticket Price: $50\nTour + Seated Luncheon Ticket Price: $100 \nThis is a rain or shine event! \nTickets purchased after 4:00 p.m. on Friday\, May 8 will not be sent via mail. DESCRIPTION:Join Newlin as they dig into history with archaeological excavations at Newlin Grist Mill and learn more about the site through the evidence under their feet! \nThe public is invited to participate (or just watch) as Newlin Grist Mill’s professional archaeologist\, Keith Doms\, and a dedicated corps of archaeology volunteers seek to gain a deeper understanding of the site’s history through careful excavation using scientific techniques and thorough documentation. Depending on the day\, visitors might be invited to help screen excavated soil to look for small artifacts or assist with cleaning artifacts that have already been excavated. \nScheduled 2026 Public Archaeology Days (10 am-3 pm): \nMarch 21\nApril 18\nMay 16\nJune 20\nJuly 18\nOctober 17 – International Archaeology Day \nFree and open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). No reservations are required. If you would like to help out with the dig\, be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and close-toed footwear. Depending on the day\, visitors might be invited to help screen excavated soil to look for small artifacts or assist with cleaning artifacts that have already been excavated. \nScheduled 2026 Public Archaeology Days (10 am-3 pm): \nMarch 21\nApril 18\nMay 16\nJune 20\nJuly 18\nOctober 17 – International Archaeology Day \nFree and open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult). Pride has always been about showing up for one another\, celebrating who we are\, and reminding each other that our community is strong\, resilient\, and here to stay.As Chester County’s largest LGBTQIA+ celebration\, PrideFest brings thousands of people from across the region together for a joyful day rooted in visibility\, belonging\, and community care. The festival features live entertainment throughout the day\, community organizations and small businesses\, local artists and makers\, food vendors\, and activities for all ages.With more than 170 vendors\, PrideFest is both a celebration and a resource hub—highlighting LGBTQIA+-affirming services\, advocacy groups\, and inclusive businesses that strengthen our community year-round.PrideFest has always been about more than a single day. It’s about gathering in public\, standing proudly together\, and continuing a long tradition of visibility that has helped our community survive\, grow\, and move forward—again and again. Whether you come to celebrate\, connect\, learn\, or simply be surrounded by community\, PrideFest is a reminder that none of us stand alone.

DESCRIPTION:Newlin Grist Mill and Wild Birds Unlimited (Glen Mills) have teamed up to explore the wonderful world of bird life! Join them for monthly naturalist-led walks through the 160-acre park at Newlin Grist Mill. \nVisitors will meet year-round residents\, visit exciting migrants\, and learn the basics of bird identification and biology. \n2026 Bird Walks: \nJanuary 31 (9 am)\nFebruary 28 (9 am)\nMarch 28 (9 am)\nApril 25 (8 am)\nMay 30 (8 am)\nJune 27 (8 am)\nJuly 25 (8 am)\nAugust 29 (8 am)\nSeptember 26 (8 am)\nOctober 31 (8 am)\nNovember 28 (9 am)\nDecember 19 – Christmas Bird Count (9 am) \nFamilies and beginners are welcome for these free bird walks! A limited number of binoculars are available for use\, but participants are encouraged to bring their own if they have them. Participants should meet by the Log Cabin.
