DESCRIPTION:Congregation Beth Am Israel in Penn Valley will host various service projects and educational opportunities this MLK Day\, seeking to improve both the local community and the greater world. Families and individuals of all ages are welcome and encouraged to share donations of new art supplies\, gently used clothes\, and like-new children’s books. The day’s service projects may include cooking\, organizing clothing and book donations\, crafting dog toys for shelters\, filling spice jars for food pantries\, and writing notes of encouragement. Learning sessions with experts will focus on climate change action\, Ukraine’s humanitarian needs\, and addressing gun violence. DESCRIPTION:The day begins with an oratorical contest for high school juniors and seniors\, hosted by the Thomas & Woods Foundation in AAMP’s Auditorium. Students will present original speeches reflecting on Dr. King’s legacy and the meaning of Radical Peace today. \nThroughout the afternoon\, AAMP’s Curatorial team will offer gallery talks connected to current exhibitions at 12:00 PM\, 2:00 PM\, and 4:00 PM\, providing historical context and interpretive insight for visitors. \nIn parallel\, family-friendly\, hands-on activities will take place in public spaces throughout the Museum\, offering creative and educational entry points for visitors of all ages. (10-2pm in Timeline\, 2-6pm in the Auditorium). \nRepresentatives from Citizens Bank including the Phillie Phanatic (in a designated area in the Founders Gallery)  and a former Phillies player will be present throughout the afternoon. \nAdmission is free\, but registration for timed entry is suggested.
