Through sacred music\, prayer\, and remembrance\, the Choral Matins will offer attendees an opportunity to reflect on the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of those who paid the ultimate price to protect America’s freedom. \nFather Tim Steeves\, a retired Army Chaplain and Lieutenant Colonel\, will serve as the guest speaker to offer his deeply personal understanding of military service\, sacrifice\, and faith. \n“Memorial Day is one of the most sacred observances our nation shares\,” said the Washington Memorial Veterans Commission. “It is a time to pause\, reflect\, and honor the men and women who laid down their lives for our country. We invite the community to join us in tribute\, gratitude\, and fellowship.” \nFollowing the service\, guests are invited to gather in fellowship for a Memorial Day picnic lunch honoring veterans\, military families\, and the surrounding community. The luncheon is free and open to the public\, though a suggested $10 donation is encouraged to help support the Veterans Commission.
