SUMMARY:Saturday Wildflower Walk: Summer Edition (Adult and Teen Event) at Tyler Arboretum
DESCRIPTION:Join wildflower expert Dick Cloud on an informative two-hour hike through meadows\, woods\, and occasionally streamside. Although the focus is on plants\, he will talk about whatever the group might see! In July and August\, the hope is to see a large variety of summer wildflowers. All levels of knowledge are welcome. \nTo avoid the hottest part of the day\, the July and August walks are scheduled for 11:00 am–1:00 pm\, with two exceptions: July 19\, 1-3 pm and August 16\, 1-3 pm. \nNote that there may be some periods of moderately paced hiking\, so wear comfortable hiking shoes. Feel free to bring a camera and a wildflower guide\, such as Peterson’s Field Guide or Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide\, if you’d like\, and enjoy a botanical-filled walk. \nPre-registration for this event is required. Please check in first at the Visitor Center\, where you’ll meet your guide\, and please be on time. This event is rain or shine and is appropriate for adults (18+) and teens ages 12-17.

The WILDEST beer festival in Philly returns to the Philadelphia Zoo this summer! \nWith more than 100 award-winning craft beers\, ciders\, hard iced teas\, hard seltzers\, local food trucks\, and live music at the Zoo’s 42-acre campus\, this event promises to be the wildest festival of the season! Summer Ale Festival is the only beer celebration in the region where guests can visit animals like big cats\, great apes\, and more. Experience a different side of the Zoo at this one-of-a-kind\, adults-only event! \nSummer Ale Fest is limited to those 21 or older with valid identification. Tickets are available exclusively through the Zoo’s website and will not be available for purchase at the door. Taps close at 9:30 pm. \nIn addition to adult bevs\, there will be food trucks and live music on hand to entertain the crowds. If taking an Uber or Lyft\, the Zoo’s rideshare drop-off and pick-up location is on 34th Street\, near the front entrance of the Zoo.
