Best suited for homeschool families with children in grades 1–5\, this interactive day brings history\, engineering and nature to life. \nParticipants can enjoy an “open house style” event at Auburn Valley State Parks & the Marshall Mansion\, wandering between engaging stations and activities including: \n\nA hunt for simple machines inside the 1897 Victorian house\nDiscovery of early local industries\, including mills\, with steam-power demonstrations\nA walk along paved park trails past an 18th & 19th Century mill site and other historic structures and sites\n\nAt the Marshall Steam Museum\, participants can: \n\nEnjoy rides on the Auburn Valley Railroad from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm\nDesign and build their own vehicle using recycled materials\, inspired by early automotive engineering\nStop by the activity table to design your own paper pocket watch\n\nPlease note that all children must be accompanied by an adult throughout their time on the site. Picnic tables are available for participants to eat a bagged lunch outside\, but there will be no food for sale or provided food (or fridge space). \nProgram Admission:\n$25/participating child (grades 1 – 5). Includes grade-specific activities\, entry into the Marshall Steam Museum & Auburn Valley State Park’s Marshall Mansion\, and train rides! \n$15/adult or non-participating child\, infants free. \nFamilies with children outside the recommended grade range are welcome to come along as a non-participant! The night’s Anticipation Activity will be level 3 only (scariest of the 3 levels)! Anticipation is a combination of 2 magical subjects\, Applied Magical Defense and Magical Creatures. They come together to form an activity that is similar to a haunted house-like experience. \nWhether you are a new or returning student\, be prepared for Magical Mayhem. \nWhen planning for the evening add additional time to the beginning and end for drop off and pick up. Candy\, coloring stations\, a themed photo backdrop\, and crafts are all part of this special annual Fall Family Fun Day of festivities! Be sure to wear your Halloween costume to take some memorable photos while crafting at WAC.\n\nChildren ages four and up get to make six fun fall projects\, spooky crafts and decorate yummy treats. Each project takes approximately 20-25 minutes\, but children can work at their own pace. Projects run continuously throughout the event.\n\nOne registration provides participants access to ALL 6 Workshops: #1 Forest Toad Stools\, #2 Magic Shrink Necklace\, #3 Autumn Leaf Print\, #4 Macrame Skeleton or Pumpkin\, #5 Splatter Monster\, and #6 Hedgehog Cookies!\n\n\nJoin Wayne Art Center in celebrating the Fall season.
